Hi, i have a subaru impreza ej20kd. its misfiring, smocking black smoke and fuel consuption is high anyone knows the problem

Boost pipes are all good.

a bit more info is needed bud. is it a standard or modified car? if so what mods and was it mapped for them? decats, front mounts, induction kits etc need to be mapped to correct the reading to the ecu. if standard car the maf might be dirty and need a clean, theres you tube videos showing how to do it. could be the front lambda sensor also. if its a classic you could connect the connectors under the steering wheel to see if theres any codes.

as said check all vac pipes for leaks or pipes popped off. extra air entering somewhere will cause the ecu to compensate and add more fuel. any changes made to the car recently?

Its 1997

go back to basics and undertake a compression test, those symptoms at first glance would suggest a piston / cylinder issue.............

i just figured out the problem yesterday. it was the airflow sensor wires were not properly insert the car now is boosting properly and no black smock and not misfiring.
