Brake fluid level

hi all,

about 5/6 months ago I noticed that my brake fluid level was low so I topped it up to the required level. the front discs and pads had only been recently changed a month prior so I assumed it wasn’t a pad problem so I checked the brake lines which was also fine.

fast forward 5/6 months and the brake fluid level has dropped again. did the same and checked the pads and discs which are fine and also brake lines.

Now should my brake fluid level be dropping as much as that over 5/6 months ?. Seems a bit much to me. Haven’t checked the rear horseshoes but I can’t think of any other reason for it to drop as quickly. With previous cars it’s never dropped as much as that and have hardly had to top them up to be honest.

my cars a 2008 hatch.

cheers

Your loosing it somewhere you may get looking.

Checked to see if the float was sticking and that was fine. And I can’t find any puddles of fluid in my garage either so if it is leaking somewhere it’s very small.

What mileage have you done , as the pads wear the fluid level drops , catches people out who keep topping it up because of this when you fit new pads and push the pistons back in the calipers which overflows the reservoir and spills fluid everywhere

I’ve probably only done 3,000 miles mate. I only work 9 miles down the road so I probably do 18 a day in total and sometimes it’s not even driven every Sunday. I’ve got standard brembo pads in their as I thought I’d give them a try. To be honest I wouldn’t buy them again and I’m thinking of replacing them beginning of the new year.

Could it be that the pads have worn uneven though the car doesn’t vibrate under braking ?
