The recent mot shows the car to be a bit rusty and parts of it covered heavily with sealant, maybe the sealant is there to hide how bad it it?
Make sure you give it a thorough check :thumb:

Got the trolley jack at the ready to take with me to get under it properly, bloody hate rust when I saw that on the mot history checker as well

Its one of a few I have in my sights for a looking at, not sure wethr to go for a modified example (as long as its done well obviously) or go for a more standard and work my own way up

Is there anything specifically to look out for when inspecting the car?

Thanks
Luke

Rust (obviously, but in particular under radiator). Knocking shocks, seized/binding front calipers, rocker cover gaskets weeping (on bottom side), radiator collapsing. Generally they're pretty tough. At that age I'd expect the clutch to have needed replacing, and check when the belts/rollers were last changed.
Depending on condition you may find an assortment of clunks coming from the suspension as some bushes may be coming to the end of their life.

Excellent thanks bud, it has coilovers fitted so that could make few things interesting as well with knocks if they are cheap rubbish etc

Good service history helps. Preferably at a specialist.
There is a post on here about a UK 300 getting treated for rust which should give you an idea of where to look.
