Maximum power and torque on a 2.5 sti engine
What are the standard 2.5 engines good for power and torque wise?
And forged? |
my forged closed deck 2.5 (14mm head studs) is running 531bhp and around 700nm of torque ,, ,from memory the standard one are good to around 380bhp
|
as domino says, depends on spec. i wouldnt push much beyond 350 on the stock engine.
Standard pistons are a risk above 350, rods are a risk above 400, blocks ok up to 450. Closed deck the block, decent rods and piston, bearings, headstuds and hedgasket and you'll be fine at 550. |

You can push your 2.5 over 500 bhp but how long it will last thats the question ^^ I have been told max you can push your 2.5 forged engine to 500 bhp thats the limit......

mines been running 530 for a while without any problems and the engine builder and mapper have said 600 wouldn't be a problem either if I wanted to go that high

we've drifted from the original question though. Aren't we talking about closed deck, 14mm headstuds etc etc now?

I have a linered and pinned 2.5 but with 11mm headstuds. It made 507hp running nitrous, that's about it's limit with those headstuds.
