Does it come with the codes that allow mapping ?

Is that not the biggest hurdle with these ?

Im pretty sure only registered mappers get these codes (unless someone knows different).

It'll be coded to the mappers dongle I believe ;) whoever mapped it will have access . If it goes to another mapper he will have to get in touch with Andy to get access .

Speak to ben at http://www.euro-spec2000.co.uk if you have a problem with a locked simtek/alcatek.

And thinking about it, if ben can access it more than likely a "pro mapper" can access it to. I guess certain mappers wont access it due to cost but bens a nice guy!

they are from the factory - however an aftermarket ECU like this would be programmed to your car by the mapper so it just needs to have the same ECU connector and it can work away.

So alcatek sti ecu will definatly work on a wrx? I am looking for one for my wrx but the guy building my engine told me the sti and wrx alcatek ecus are different due to avcs etc :/

bludgod 07 February 2018 02:42 PM

yes - the STI ecu has wiring and features for AVCS wheras the WRX one does not. If in doubt grab the serial number from the picture and have your mapper confirm what's what and that it will suit your build.
