Rough running after turbo swap
Hope you guys can help I swapped the standard turbo on my wrx for a vf35 and swapped the top mount for front mount as well as full exhaust swap and induction cone
Since doing this it idles a bit odd and the power is very sluggish pulling off it’s almost like I have to rev the nuts off it to get it to move...... Is this normal the car is booked in 2mo morning at polepostion 20miles away for remap will this sort it? And will it be safe to drive providing I keep it off boost |
Yes remap will sort it & will be ok driven off boost if you need to use it.

100% will need mapping for these mods, but also it's possible you have a leak in your setup somewhere - it depends how good your induction kit is if the scaling is very different from stock then the ECU will be unable to correct for it, if the scaling is a good match then the ECU will be doing it's job but a leak could be throwing it off.
I take it you've fitted larger injectors as well to feed that turbo along with a fuel pump? |
Y
This is exactly what happens if you,ve got no preload on the wastegate arm-lots of revs no boost
