Brand new suspension rebuild package for Bug/ Blob WRX & Sti inc PCA Dynamic Springs

PRICE IS £450 including Delivery any takers before Christmas?

Hi all,

Following a change of direction car wise I now have my suspension rebuild package for sale.

I purchased this for my 2002 Bugeye WRX but its a Blobeye setup (topmounts) so will fit either car.

This kit contains

4 Optimal Shock absorbers
4 x PCA Dynamic Springs (blue)
2 x front top mounts (ICP)
2 x rear top mounts (ICP)
2 x front febi bilstein bumpstops 27848 for the lowered front springs
2 x KYB front dust boot kit inc oe fit bumpstops
2 x KYB rear dust boot kit inc oe fit bumpstops

So minus some drop links which are a few quid its a basically a complete rebuild kit for a WRX bug or blob owner and i'm pretty sure the PCA springs are good for STi's too?

I researched all the threads heavily on here to make sure I purchased all the right bits / part numbers even down to the uprated front bump stops.

The PCA dynamic springs received amazing reviews and are the spring to go for on a WRX for comfort, handling and looks.

This cost set me back a rather large amount of money but understand i'll have to take a hit.

Please note everything is brand new in its box, never fitted and I have receipts to prove I purchased them within the last 4 months.

Ideally this collection only due to quantity of stuff and at the moment I would like to keep it all together!

Item is based in Chelmsford, Essex.

Price is £650 which imo when you compare it to cruddy coilovers is an absolute bargain to overhaul such an important part of the car.

Thanks

Just to gather some pointers, is it just a lack of suspension requirements from people or is it too expensive this close to Christmas etc? :-s

Any pointers positive or negative are welcome! (well not too negative!)

How would this setup work on my stock 2002 bug STi

Very interested in this

Sounds like a good deal to me. Will just have to wait for the right buyer. Offering courier will help though.

Probably too soft as the PCA blue springs are designed for the WRX. The red springs are intended for the heavier STi. But you might like it nonetheless.

I'm after a more comfort based setup any way,

My other Blob on BC coils is back breaking

Would it just be a case of getting some red springs if i tried and found too soft ?

They would be too soft to the point it rides lower would it ?

I want standard ride height

Thanks for advice, It owes me quite a bit more than what I've advertised at so glad its not overpriced!

I guess I could do 2 or 3 lots of couriers, as the shocks did come in one box, then the springs and the last box could be remaining bits :s

but i'd have to see the price on that as I reckon it would be nearing £50 for 3 x tracked and insured large packages.

To SmurfyBhoy, I purchased these springs as they did come highly recommended for comfort and handling and the shocks are WRX shocks so they shouldn't lower any more than specified which is only very slightly iirc ;-s

SmurfyBhoy 23 October 2017 11:33 AM

That's my worry tho if they are already slightly lower

Added to the fact that my sti is a little heavier

I am afraid it may drop it a little too much

Any idea what the ride height drop on the springs is ?

It'll cost £50 in fuel for anyone outside Essex to collect :lol1:

Ah, an economical car and £50 should stretch :-)

I'll just have to hold out for an Essex resident!

SmurfyBhoy 23 October 2017 02:15 PM

Can't find anyone who has used these springs on an Sti

Im thinking of trying it,

Worst case i could fire my current sti springs on there if they are too soft ?

TECHNOPUG 23 October 2017 02:41 PM

The thing to remember is that the springs are designed to work with stock WRX shocks (and WRX weight). I don't think swapping to STi shocks/springs will be a great idea. It won't be terrible on an STi just probably not as good as on a WRX. The drop is quite small. Maybe 15-20mm. My WRX sits 65cm from ground to arch with them.

No i would be fitting the whole lot that is being sold here

That's what got me thinking,

What we talking 100/150kg between wrx/sti

Difference of a passenger and a tank of fuel ?

Just added pictures for those who have been interested.

Thanks!

If only this was for Sti :(

optimus 14 November 2017 10:23 AM

Price is now £450 delivered, Thanks!

akafonzie 14 November 2017 02:08 PM

I'm guessing this is probably a no, but would you consider selling the top mounts separately?

I can't find much info on the PCA springs or Optimal shocks... do you know if this kit would be suitable for a Wagon?
