Tyre size for 8x18 on Newage?
What's going to work on a Newage widetrack STI with ET38 8x18 wheels? The stock wheels have 235/45/17 on IIRC. What works without rubbing etc. for this spec wheel?

Why not use the Tyre rim calculator in the tools section in the header bar to give you an idea of what does and doesn't fit http://clarkdh.net23.net/NTL/Width%20offset.PNG In addition this table might help as to max tyre width for rims http://clarkdh.net23.net/NTL/Equivalency%20table.PNG |
I'm sure I'm running 235s on mine. Need to double check so I can get an accurate calculation.

So I am running 235/45/17 on mine. Looks like 225/40/18 is actually a -0.46% diameter change going by the tyre size calculator! 235/40/18 would be 0.29% bigger.
Which would I best going for? With it having to have track tyres, it will probably boil down to the sizes available but good to know peoples' thoughts. |
Depends on how much camber you’re running, how much the car is lowered etc
I’d say with a 38 offset you’re going to be pretty close to the arch especially with track action as well. |
True, probably the 225s then to be safe. Just seems almost a backwards step to reduce the contact patch size...

Running 235/40/18 tyres on my turinis, 8.5 width with a 52 offset, tyres are Nanking ns2r's so quite a stiff straight sided sidewall, there's not a lot of room between the tyre and the shocks but they do clear.
