GC8 Full Respray - Worth it?

All,

i have an immaculate GC8 that was just featured in Fast Car - under readers ride. however lately i have seen a few white gc8 classics freshly sprayed and its tempting me to get mine resprayed white. The current colour is mica blue.

I am not looking to get the engine bay sprayed etc, just purely what can be done from the outside and behind the doors etc. boot lids and bonnets.

is it worth it? Its 60k original impreza. sitting on formula mesh. How much would i be looking at to get this done?

anybody know of any good sprayers in N/W london

Personally I would keep it as it is. It's good to be different :)

It looks horrible when the engine bay is in a different colour.

Unless you are having it all sprayed I would leave it .

Wrap it - with the added bonus of protecting the paint work underneath!

I'd go with the wrap option as well, if you spray and want it done properly you need to factor in the cost of all the 16+ year old clips and bits of trim that have gone brittle and will break when removed and removal and refitting of the front and rear screens

Wrap it or leave it, white with blue bay, boot and door checks would look (rap IMO

can't beat a freshly painted scoob lol , your looking at best part of 2k to do the outside of the car and more you wanted the bay done (prob around 3k),,, mines just been painted and looks amazing in blue

how much would you pay for a respray?

2k's pretty reasonable if it's a good job, It's not that quick to strip, prep, fix all the bad bits, undercoat, top coat, lacquer and then fit all the bits back on

All for 2k, as I say if it's a decent job then for me it would be a price I'd pay no problem :luxhello:

I thought it was a fair price ,, that isn't what iv paid to have the blue one sprayed as that was already paid for in the deal when I brought it ,but just buying the paint and bits needed was over £350, but iv been quoted enough times from my own bodyshop to know what it will cost to spray a scoob properly

at the end of the day you get what you pay for as some places might be cheaper but it will show in the quality of the finish
