VF35 Turbo Upgrade

Hi all,

New to the world of Scoobys - long time admirer though!

I have got the wife a 2003 WRX, currently going through STI upgrades.

I have a VF35 turbo that I am installing, but it looks like i need the oil return pipe. The unit i have got did not come with it and the TD04 pipe doesn't fit.

Any idea where I can get this from in a hurry? Car is booked in for a remap on the 26th.

Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks
K

Import car parts should stock them, have a look on Scoobyworld and Scoobyworx as well.

Or try one of breakers, such as MattyB see Mattybr5@MB Developments in the authorized traders section.

One of these kits should do you.

I used one when I fitted my VF48 which is the same series and it was great. Good quality and everything you needed brand new.

Thanks for the reply guys.

Unfortunately most don't have them in stock, and delivery from outside of UK is 6-9 days.

Spoke to the garage again and he said he will mod the TD04 to make it work.

Happy again!

Remap is booked for Tuesday with Duncan from @ RaceDynamix

I'll be happy with anything over 300bhp :)

STI scoop under tray? You'll need that if you've fitted the STI TMIC.

3 port boost solenoid? Always worth doing IMO.

Otherwise, a nice list.

Have you upgraded your brakes yet? You'll need to consider brembo's or something similar up front once it's mapped. The WRX callipers are next to useless no matter how you upgrade their discs with increased power levels.

Need some pics of your car matey, your seats look lovely!

Couldn't get hold of an STI undertray, so going to cut away my current one for now.

I have no idea what a 3 port boost solenoid is, but i now want it!

Got new Brembo pads and disks being fitted as we speak. Upgrade to Brembo calipers will be part of next stage I reckon.

New to engine mods so learning as I go!

Well you're doing well mate. You're going down the right route with everything.

If you get a chance definitely get the STI scoop under tray. Breakers like MB Developments and Scoobyspares will have these on the shelf no doubt and it's almost pointless upgrading the intercooler to a bigger one if you can't duct air correctly over the whole face of the IC. If you use a smaller scooper under tray (sometimes called scoop splitter) it will allow some of the IC to not get fresh cooling air and could actually increase your charge temperatures over the original WRX unit as a result.

a 3 port boost solenoid will help to control your turbo better and boost levels. It may help the mapper to hold boost better for longer so it's worth doing for the minimal outlay. Scoobyworx make a plug and play 3 port or their own (SWRD) which comes with a plug in harness for your loom. Simple. Very cheap and very reliable as they use the proven Pierberg units Prodrive used to use. Give Darrell @ Scoobyworx a call or email. He'll sort you out.

Brembo discs and pads won't really make a difference to your brakes. You will need bigger callipers eventually.

Nice car and in the fastest colour too! :D

kaled00 26 September 2017 06:30 PM

Duncan gave it a remap today. 330bhp :)

he qouted it would be around that and it was! 330.7 to be precise and everything seems good.

BrownPantsRacing 27 September 2017 09:28 AM

Nice work! Bet that feels a bit different to drive now?
