Brown sauce? With Roast lamb? WTF? Your snet account should be suspended while that comment is investigated. Come on man. Think about what you're saying!!!! :D So long as its not just not juice that's got stale bread in it because you're on poverty street |

 totally agree. However, my daughter has mint sauce on roast CHICKEN!!! WTF is that all about?
That's borderline acceptable though Steve as mint sauce is an officially certified roast condiment. But Brown sauce? On roast Lamb? FFS. :nono: |
HP brown sauce to be precise :lol1:
|
How do I block someone on here? :D
|
I've searched the BBC food site and find no reference to roast lamb and brown sauce.
Weirdo. |

Maybe but mushroom sauce over a flame grilled steak - a la USA - would have the edge :thumb: dl |

This. Never new COLD bread sauce was even a thing! :cuckoo: Love the stuff..... HOT, of course. :smug: Also love white sauce (no sniggering at the back)... Plus onion sauce. |
So it's basically proper home made gravy with bread crumbs added.
I usually do a garlic, onion and mushroom gravy with a steak... cooked in the same pan as the steak of course with a little red wine out of the bottle that i'm drinking with it and the water from the veg and a teaspoon of english mustard on the side. ;) Only things to put HP on are eggs, bacon/ham and chips as individuals or any combination there of. I rarely eat tomato sauce... love salad cream and don't mind a spot of mayo. Never understand why someone would buy or make a nice meal and then chuck a processed sauce all over it... should try tasting the food first.... I know people out here that buy a pizza then cover it in tomato sauce... it's all over the base FFS why smother it with more... may as well save some money and just buy a loaf of bread and a bottle of ketchup because that's all they're going to taste.:cuckoo: |
Bread sauce hot is bloody lovely, as is onion sauce.
Both make me fart though. |
lol

I think this thread needs a poll added so we can clarify the bread-sauce-gate temperature issues.
Also, for me, I can eat bacon sarnies with brown sauce, tommy sauce or without either quite happily. So long as it has bread and bacon I couldn't give 2 sh1ts. Would you put bread sauce on a bacon sarnie? |

YES! I used to have them (with the crusts) in my lunchbox at primary school.

We always poured the dripping onto bread when cooking bacon sandwiches. Nothing better than a dripping sandwich :thumb:

hahaha. Now you're talking. We had the same thing when I were a lad. My Dad was from a large family with little money and these traditions carry over. We regularly had left over roast dripping on hot toast as a treat. He'd also spread some of the fat on the toast before putting the dripping on instead of butter. Yuk.
As said, a heart attack on a plate right there! hahahaha. I'm not even from Yeeerkshire and we used to do this! :D |
