Bob Rawle Map (WOW) Big Power

Hi all,

I would like to give a shout out to Bob Rawle for Mapping the Hawkeye today at TRW in Darlington-

He turned this-

to this-

Gains were 448bhp to 504bhp and 392lbft to 472lbft, changes were a Harvey Up Pipe from RCM Venturi and 12% Bioethanol, he also increased boost from 1.3 bar to 1.6 bar.

Bob also fitted another ecu for me as old one was bricked and sorted out a few problems with boost solenoid pipes which was a great help.

Bob Used ECUTEK Racerom, big shout out for 32bit ecu (with right mapper haaa)

Spec of Car-

2.5 SCDB Forged, WRX AVCS Heads, 6 Speed 2.0 Box
MDX321T
RCM Big MAF
830CC Injectors de-capped, DW300LPH FP
RCM Headers, Harvey Up Pipe, 3 Inch Decat
3 Port Boost Solenoid, Perrin 4 Bar Map Sensor
Catch Can
FMIC

Car Feels much smoother now, better at lower revs and pulls much harder.

I know it was road dyno from ecutek but bobs set up is everybit as accurate as a Dyno Dynamics Dyno and before all the haters start weight of car was right as there was two big lads in plus bob and a boot full of stuff, as well as 2/3 of a tank of fuel.

Cheers Bob

I wouldnt go that far as i know of a fair few people who have been disappointed and a few that have been pleasantly surprised when finally putting their car on a proper dyno for comparison.

I would guess your figures would be about right and i bet its great to drive, i previously had a similar setup with the same turbo but with a 2.0 block and it made 481bhp at 1.8 bar with 20% methanol.

Out of curiosity why only 12% ethanol, seems a bit of an odd number ?

Surely a more interesting comparison would be the old map road dyno graph vs the new map road dyno graph ?

Thats cool. I previously owned a car he had mapped and loved it. I am currently putting the engine from that car in my wagon. Hoping to get it on the dyno at some point soon.

Never heard a bad word about Bobs work.

Enjoy

Haaaa dub you we made a mistake whilst filling so had to roll with it, tbh I think bob is probably the best at using delta dash he knows he's stuff, car is really fast now, as you said it sound about right from 448bhp on 1.3 bar on v power, to 1.6 bar on jungle juice, car had 2.0 box as well so really shifts, we had to map with 5th, 4th was to fast

It would have been great Martyn, We did not get a base figure as ecu was bricked so had to change it, what gain would you expect to see going from 1.3 bar to 1.6 bar flat with a bit of bio hence more ignition?

Bob Rawle 13 September 2017 04:38 PM

It would Martyn but no one should consider running power pulls on a car with a spec that its not yet been mapped for ... could all end in tears doing that :-)

I was assuming Martyn meant comparing it with the graph from the previous mapping?

Had the car out the other night, it now spins wheels in 3rd out of a corner, it did not do that on the old map, certainly feels like another 70lbft

Will definitely have a map done by bob when I eventually fit a new turbo to me car. Always hear good stuff about him!!!

Bob Rawle 15 September 2017 03:25 PM

That was posted ? No Martn is suggesting that I do the same road pulls prior to me mapping it ... but of course that could have damaged the car since there has to be a reason to map it.
