Rear backing plate when upgrading to rear Brembo

Hello chaps,

So currently upgrading the rears on my 2003 Blob WRX to a Brembo STI setup. I have all the discs, pads and larger handbrake shoes but regarding the rear backing plates what have other members done as currently the larger discs are not going to fit?

simply trim the lip off and everything works fine........
