TECHNOPUG 08 August 2017 12:00 PM

I had one for my first car. Lots of parts on the ebay one are non-original (wheels, Bilsteins, red exhaust etc). Be interesting to see what it goes for. It won't be £65k.....I'd be surprised if he got his money back if he's spent £20k+ to be honest.

stevekoz 08 August 2017 12:23 PM

The bidding is up to 65k on that so unless someone is having a laugh with it (109 bids currently) thats currently the selling price! wow. I had an old 1.3 limited edition nova as my first car. Can't rmemeber the exact model - dammit. Who'd have thought it??!

stevekoz 08 August 2017 12:26 PM

oh mine was the sting..1.2 Vauxhall Nova Sting. I loved that car. so rev happy!

TECHNOPUG 08 August 2017 12:27 PM

I thought that was the buy it now price!

I also doubt he will get the £65 grand, but the top bidders look to have good 'feedback'

Dr Hu 08 August 2017 01:23 PM

Blimey !

ALi-B 08 August 2017 11:12 PM

Cousin's mates had one.

Those were the days, hooning round Merry Hill. SL2 blasting from the tape player, subwoofer cranked up so high you could see the volts drop on the voltmeter in time with the music :lol1:

Not saying there was a stereotype for young Nova owners...but :lol1:

He wrote it off in the end :(

Yep used to do the same on a Thursday night if memory serves. :freak3:

lozgti1 09 August 2017 06:12 AM

I had a 1.4sr

How can you spend £20k on it ?!

Anyway, few other cars would get my £65k, certainly not that!

dpb 09 August 2017 08:29 AM

The original ned mobile !

stevebt 09 August 2017 08:01 PM

lol.Spot on. Are the anoraks missing something ? It's a 1.3 bag of tripe box. As was my 1.4.

I'll have six stunning and driveable and sporty and great lotus elises instead thank you very much:D

And spend the change on fuel and tyres and petrol

If it had to be a Lotus I would rather have an Elan sprint with the later 130bhp big valve head, painted in JPS F1 colours.

I passed on the opportunity to have a Elan +2 130 for £9k; an uglier but more practical version of the above, they now tend to fetch £15k for a tatty one, £30k for a minter :o

Very nice . I like the elan:thumb: best F1 colours on a car ever. Think they did a JPS coloured elise ?

So many 'proper' classics out there. Can't understand how an 80's Nova would have a tag of £65k ! . I would have said £10k max for something unmolested and no miles on the clock

Really don't understand the classic market

Better stick to my day job.lol

Moley 14 August 2017 08:12 PM

Had one of these as my second car back in '97, ended up being banger raced by a friend of mine once I got rid of it

jayallen 14 August 2017 08:31 PM

...and if like magic, another one pops up.. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VAUXHALL-N...UAAOSw9EZZjbeB

lozgti1 14 August 2017 09:31 PM

Prefer that GSi....

markjmd 14 August 2017 09:49 PM

£65K would bag you any number of very well looked after 328 GTB/GTS. To say this guy is pulling a bit too hard on the crack pipe is putting it mildly :lol1:

lozgti1 15 August 2017 10:12 PM

Who are all the crazy fools who are bidding ? There is nostalgia and there is nutcase.

Well it has been sold and congratulaitons to the winner. Who overspent by £60,000 and got a pile of junk.lol

Mental

lozgti1 15 August 2017 10:22 PM

Don't know why I am so bothered about it save it belies belief

Utterly rubbish Nova v Ferrari, Austin Healey, lotus,Maserati, Sierra Cosworth, Mk 1 Golf GTI , Lancia Integrale, Porsche etc etc (list is endless)

Is this a joke or am I really missing something.?

dpb 16 August 2017 09:55 AM

i suppose anything has a price if love it enough .

Have the price these things been steadily rising though ?

legb4rsk 16 August 2017 09:59 AM

This reminds me of a time many years ago when a friend of ours had a Nova.
At the time Oasis had a song out called 'Champagne Supernova'.
We used to drive him nuts by continuously singing the modified version 'Sh*t Brown Vauxhall Nova'.

:D

TECHNOPUG 16 August 2017 10:10 AM

Sold for £40k outside of eBay apparently. According to the book of faces.

dpb 16 August 2017 10:10 AM

He'd have the last larf if he's still got it , even a ****ter must be worth several k - based on the above .

Seems a strange thing to do when it made an extra £26k on ebay...
