My current respray list,

Tray under wiper arms.
Roof rack bars.
Plastic side skirts.
Mudflaps.
plasitc trims on side mirrors.

Cant hurt to have a good spruce up of it all.

jaygsi 05 September 2017 04:28 PM

Yeah not fitted both yet but good improvement, night breakers look better on paper for night not sure if much in it though.

So did I.

I had them nylon-coated in satin black - look the biz and really freshens the car up.

It's all in the little details....

BrownPantsRacing 06 September 2017 10:35 AM

Did my wipers and the plastric trim bits in satin black when I bought the car. Looks OEM and makes a massive improvement.

Matty81 06 September 2017 12:28 PM

That's the next thing I wanna do. Tidy up some trims. Did you use laquer aswell ?

Nope. No lacquer, just a can of Hell Frauds satin black. job done.

Personally I wouldn't fit an unknown branded item. As the saying goes, buy cheap, buy twice.

Go for something like a genuine Walbro, or RCM or SWRD pump. I have the latter and it's been great.

Did you use the normal satin black or the high temp one brown pants? I didn't know which one to use to be honest, I was thinking maybe the high temp version would be a little more hard wearing maybe?

ossett2k2 06 September 2017 01:49 PM

Previous owner painted my wiper arms in what looks like hammerite and judging by the quality seems he used some kind of vegetable as a paint brush!
I really must get around to cleaning them up and respraying as they look shocking.

Just the normal temp off the shelf own brand stuff. No special high temp paint required unless you are planning to drive through a volcano. If so then yes, high temp paint would be better.

I did my tow bar plate in hammerite and instantly regretted it. I'm going to take it off, strip it again and spray properly I think. I'm never going to tow anything, no point it having it an odd shade from the rest of the trimmings etc.

https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.sco...ab4180694f.jpg

Although at least it's protected from the elements and not a rusting mess like it was.

Make sure it's off properly hammerite reacts with other paints and crinkles if not removed properly:thumb:

Matty81 06 September 2017 04:47 PM

Did you use metal hammerite ? I was gonna use some but won't bother if that's what you used.

Yep metal hammerite. I wouldn't bother to be honest. I'm going to strip mine and do it again in due coarse. Though like I said it looks better than the rusty mess it was, and is at least protected from the elements.

Spraying properly is the way to go. Hindsight :brickwall

ZANY 06 September 2017 05:33 PM

Are they both a DIFFRENT colour or is it just me?

I wouldn't mind the black suede ones they go like them with a black spec c rear bench but I don't think my fat arse would fit in them though lol!

Matty81 06 September 2017 07:04 PM

I wanna spray the bar that's attached to my top mount black but one of the bolts refuses to come out because all it does is keep turning. may be a drilling by the looks of things but I'd rather not if I can help it.

both the exact same colour, bit darker than the sti blue, just a bad shadow/lighting in the underground carpark

the suede sti recaros are nice but dont hold you like these, still a bit tame with the bolsters but they are mental money

Aaah right...:thumb:

The bugeye sti seats are the best in my opinion for holding you in from the three bug blob and hawk
I've never drove or even sat in any evo till this day so don't know how they compare to the bug sti seats :wonder:

Much better. Another thing I'll do I think. Did you do them on the car or take off? If off are they easy to remove?

I took them off, remove he rubbers and there is about 10-15 positive or Philips head screws, quick scotch off and blasted with some u-pol satin black

Edit because I said "Scott" = "Scotch"
