hedgecutter 03 August 2017 08:23 AM

Put some info up quick. Sorry to hear this

ossett2k2 03 August 2017 08:32 AM

As above get some details out quick,on here and social media if you can.
Most of the time a stolen car will be parked up for a few days to see if there is a tracker, does your car have a tracker?

Subaru T25 no 021. reg. KL04WAY stolen from ASD garage Cheltenham.
thanks for looking out guys.

catiaboy 03 August 2017 09:10 AM

sadly no tracker fitted. took it out last year when insurance said it would not give me a discount for having it. hindsight is a wonderful thing.

XRS 03 August 2017 09:59 AM

Hope you get it back.

Mine is very similar, No. 27

johned 03 August 2017 10:10 AM

scout1982 03 August 2017 01:36 PM

Sorry to hear that mate! Absolute scum!
Was it the only car taken from that garage?
Hope it reappears unscathed!

yabbadoo4 03 August 2017 02:23 PM

what a bummer m8, feel for you. was the car inside or outside the garage? any cctv to check footage etc? have you used the garage before? someone knew it was there and knew it was a type 25 im guessing. best of luck to you getting it back.

Jay kay 03 August 2017 02:46 PM

Check ebay regularly for any bespoke parts such as the wheels etc, may turn up something?

catiaboy 03 August 2017 03:40 PM

it was taken from inside the locked garage and mine was the only car taken. there is cctv footage. it was stolen Tuesday night at 12:00. they took garage tools as well in my boot. police forensics have been but no actual police have turned up as yet. not even to look at the footage.

The Rig 03 August 2017 03:48 PM

will keep an eye out as thats my area but suspect it way out of gloucestershire by now

ajones3217 03 August 2017 06:13 PM

8ulldog 03 August 2017 07:18 PM

Wow, really feel for you. My back yard as well, I hope you get a positive outcome.

catiaboy 05 August 2017 12:08 PM

Thanks again guys. I'm really hoping it will be found to. Don't really care what state it's in . Because it can always be fixed. And all the parts would fit in to anther shell. I have spent such a lot of dosh on it . Like I'm sure all of you have on your cars.

catiaboy 14 August 2017 09:22 PM

Hello guys, I have some good news. My car was found in Swindon. Parked up nice in a lane.. I have not seen it as yet, but police say it looks ok inside and out. They also said it looks like it’s been ragged around a field or something. Only hope the engine is still intact. I hill climb it. So it’s used to a bit of that. It’s running 450bhp on full boost. I guess they had some fun. Let’s hope there is no damage underneath. it will be so good to be getting my T25 back. Any body recommend a tracker system. I need to put one back on it.

catiaboy 14 August 2017 09:31 PM

oh I forgot to say. insurance wont cover me unless I get the locks changed because the crooks kept the keys. Subaru say lock set will take 2-3months to come form japan....
so I will get it back but wont be able to drive it...I am talking with insurance people now to sort this......

Dave Y 14 August 2017 09:36 PM

Which hillclimb do you take part in

360ste 14 August 2017 09:53 PM

Parts 2-3 months from Subaru??? I ordered the fuel pipe retaining clip for the feed pipe to the tank. An item that could only come from Japan and that took less than 3 weeks.
Glad to hear your car was found, hope it only requires the locks sorting.

catiaboy 14 August 2017 10:24 PM

I hill climb and sprint in the west country mainly. at wiscombe park, Castle hill, clay pigeon race way, for a bit of fun and testing.. Charmouth hill climb. just pick and choose as I go along...
RCM said the parts would have to be made?

jaygsi 14 August 2017 10:29 PM

Glad you got the car back. You could do with a fuel cut of switch. Or remote cut off, so you can stop the car by your phone. That means thiefs get away but not far.

joe v3sti 14 August 2017 11:19 PM

Just get a lockset from an approved dismantlers such as scooby spares in fleetwood. Speak with scott

funkyrimpler 14 August 2017 11:32 PM

So glad you got your baby back mate...
When i had a Scooby it came with an ingenious gearbox lock..I think it was called a "T-Bar"..It ran from the passenger footwell. You pressed it into the transmission tunnel and it prevented the gearstick from moving or even being removed.
I used to keep the key separate from the car keys..Great bit of kit..

jaygsi 16 August 2017 07:46 AM

Get some pictures up. See what condition it's in.

Rob Day 16 August 2017 08:59 AM

That's a good result, unusual that the thieves went to the extent of stealing the car to just leave it parked up. A thief with respect..... sounds wrong doesn't it!

Glad your getting it back.

Agree with the comments ref the lead time on the locks and keys etc, that's quite a wait. I assume this is because they will be mirroring the current settings for the immobiliser/ECU etc?

As for tracker, I cant help as I don't have one, but if I was to get one I would be asking a specialist insurance company which they recommend. Maybe have a word with Gary at Keith Michaels insurance, and while at it get a insurance quote from him too, he's always been excellent for me!

Robert.

Not uncommon at all, they are checking to see if it has a tracker fitted, they want the whole car, if it was just for parts they would have had it stripped and burnt out by now.

Glad you got your car back!

My dad had something similar in his Audi A6 Avant (biturbo one), where someone incidentally in a subaru followed him home, threatened him for the keys and as my dad chucked them into a bush and walked away from the house, they went for the keys rather than him! Phew!

Anyway, they took the car north (from Manchester) and ended up using it in a bank robbery. Got the car back none the worse for wear, but charged for the privilege!

Must have used it for it's load carrying and then changed cars.
