F-Type V8 R
Picked it up Last week, fook me this thing is bloody quick.
Leaves my old 996 turbo X50 for dead (ok, it's got 100bhp more and weighs more too) and the ride is firm but a million times better than that of our M3. Sport and Dynamic mode used together, and using the paddles, gives some unholy noises- as one mag tester said 'like a T-Rex gargling hand grenades...' Very different from my Exige 350... |
Love the look of the F -type
|
Pictures please......
|
I would, but Photobucket is playing silly buggers
|
Flickr being a bugger too...
|
Just post direct to the forum,no need for 3rd party hosts anymore.
We NEED pics :) |
Ahaaaaaa!
(Thanks ^^) All I've really got are the dealer ones. 3 years old in September, so a hefty chunk of its depreciation all ready done. Plan is to use it for two years then move onto the SVR (if I like this enough..) https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.sco...b91900775f.jpg https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.sco...7105102026.jpg https://cimg6.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.sco...821b58d1e5.jpg https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.sco...800d03b2b9.jpg https://cimg8.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.sco...d6917de215.jpg https://cimg0.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.sco...79c37bd966.jpg https://cimg3.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.sco...f24e5dfa33.jpg https://cimg5.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.sco...af26b424c4.jpg |
Enjoy you lucky person.

Stunner. Only failings on lesser f-types is the twin exhaust in the middle. Those exhausts looks right:thumb:
|
That's just lovely :luvlove:
|
Stunning mate. Guy on our streets got one. Same colour too, his wheels look a little different though. It is a 66 plate. Supercharged and all. Sounds amazing when it pulls away!
|
I like the supercharged xkr's as they have a similar look to yours but are 2+2 so a little bit more passenger friendly.
|
Give me a ride.
|
Enjoy!!!:thumb: be careful backing in looks a bit tight :D
|
Aye, it's a bit tighter than the Lotus was!
|
looks like its inside the garage door pillar

As for the width, this is a problem I share, the E63 I have just fits in the driveway, with only just enough room to get out, but you must be really careful to avoid the door against the house wall, so you're hand or wallet get used as a blocker So much larger than the C63 it replaced. I bet its the same with getting out of the Jag |
mates got a vert, bit of an animal

Looks very nice :thumb: Given the ever increasing 911 prices recently, I've been pondering about an F-Type too. There's a Grey one round the corner from me, and it look pretty f**king good. It's just a shame you can't have a manual with AWD. It's one or the other. Did you try the V6S before choosing the V8? How did they compare? Evo magazine rated the V6S above the V8 due to being easier to make progress at speed (as the V8 could snap due to its power) |
I drove a new V6 400 Sport, it was ok, but didn't really have any drama like I had in the Exige engine wise.
Obviously not had this long enough to say what it's like on the wayward side. I've driven it in the rain just once, and the rear wheels span as I pulled away but I'm not yet used to the throttle (and I had it in Sport / Dynamic mode and didn't realise...) The reviews of the V8 also swayed me slightly. |

Looks like you have a rug on the wall to protect the door .
I used to have a piece of carpet pinned to the wall to protect, essential when so tight. Lovely looking car. |

It's an Aston without the price tag and servicing costs.
Looks lovely. Just out of curiosity if you don't mind me asking... what's your cost of ownership / to change been like over these last 3/4 cars... I get the feeling that your quite savvy in the way you go about it. |
I no longer buy new unless it's a keeper ( bought a new Vitara in March but it's a do all family car with a lifetime warranty) - both my last 2 Exiges were lightly used and didn't cost much over my ownership.
My Exige 350 cost me £3k in a year of ownership ( purchase cost) - the first owner took the brunt of the depreciation and only did 2k miles in it before I bought it. Similar with my roadster before that. The Jag might cost me a bit more, but it's lost a massive amount since it was new, and sometimes you have to pay to play - as long as it's sensible and within means) |
A mate of mine has the new Range Rover SVR & its awesome! The sound of the thing is just WOW!!
I was considering a FL Audi RS6. But really like the look of this! |
My kids bought me some track laps in 3 sports cars recently and I got to try a V8 F-Type.
It was a hoot. It has to be the most fun you can have with your clothes on! Enjoy!:thumb: |
