Rear Brembos on WRX 2006
Can anyone tell me what's needed for the swap on a 2006 WRX? I already have the rear Brembo's and 5x100 discs ready
I found this on another forum but he said you need nothing then says you need an adapter. 02-05 WRX will require the adapter bracket, readily available from Kartboy to use brembos on the rear. 06-07 WRX requires nothing, the calipers will bolt right up. regardless, all WRXs need WRX adapter rotors to ensure the emergency brake works properly. DBA is currently the only manufacturer that makes them. The part number is DBA 2657. Thanks in advance :) |
Im sure you need the adaptors for the handbrake, Ian at Godspeed brakes does them

Hi
You don't need brackets as the calipers bolt straight to the hubs , you will either need thicker handbrake shoes, or the discs we do with the reducer sleeve fitted Cheers Ian 01656 723060 |

Sorry to jump in on this but I've just bought a pair of sti hatch rear brembos. Question is though, if I was to buy a pair of brake discs that fit the sti hatch, will they fit onto my wrx ? As I've heard that the hatch sti brake discs have the option of both 5x100 and 114.3 fitment.
Thanks |

Thanks The hatch sti discs and calipers will only fit on a hatch wrx , the hatch sti brembos will not fit on a pre 2007 wrx You need the gold brembos to fit Cheers ian |
Hello Godspeed,
So if I was to buy a pair of hatch sti brembo brake discs specific for a hatch sti rather ones that have come straight of a hatch they will fit my wrx then ?. Only reason I'm asking is because I've had a look on a couple of sites using a mates reg off his sti hatch. Will these fit mine then even though the pcd is different ? |
The only other alternative is to have my discs drilled otherwise.
|
Hi
Do you have a wrx hatch ? If so you will need the sti hatch calipers discs and pads, and you need to drill the discs to suit your pcd Very simple to do. If you have a 2001 to 2007 wrx , the hatch sti rear brakes wont fit , you will need the 01 to 07 sti rear brakes and fit the thicker handbrake shoes as well |
Hi Ian,
Yeah I have the hatch wrx. Funnily enough when I changed my fronts to sti hatch brembos I ended up buying the sti front discs using a mates sti hatch registration number from eurocarparts and they fitted perfectly. Wondering whether it would be the same for the rears! If not, like you said I can have them drilled. |
Just out of interest Ian! What needs to be done to have them drilled if I come to it!?

We do it , and charge £25 a pair , you should be able to get it done at a local machine shop , or you can send them to us , but the shipping both ways adds to the cost , or if you're local'ish , bring them to us and we'll do them while you wait Cheers Ian |
Hmmm that's strange, because I've had the discs on me car for the last 3/4 weeks from an sti hatch and I haven't had any problems. Not saying you're wrong or anything Ian.

I'd like to think I know Impreza brakes better than someone working at the counter in euro car parts :thumb: :D Cheers Ian |
Oh god yeah! I wasn't just glad that they fit! Less problems for me then :)
