Hi All,

Having owned a Impreza STI for the best part of 8 years before moving it on to buy a Golf R, a couple of years later I found myself in a position to buy another... here it is:

- EJ22 Closed Deck Engine Block
- RCM 2.35 Stroker Kit
- RCM Omega Pistons
- RCM Con Rods
- RCM 14mm Headstud kit
- RCM 11mm modified oil pump
- RCM Racing Cams
- CDF Racing Fuel Rails
- Aluminium Lightweight Pulleys
- Rotated Inlet Manifold
- Lateral Performance MD321V Turbo
- Hybrid Front mount intercooler
- AP 6 pot front brake kit
- BC Racing Coilover suspension
- Mapped to just under 500bhp/500lbft at 1.6bar boost on vpower.
- Defi Gauges
- Cosworth cam belt and OEM pulleys and tensioner
- CDF Clear timing belt covers.
- CDF Reverse alternator mounting kit.
- Mishimoto X-Line Aluminum Radiator with OEM fans fitted.
- Various nuts and bolts being replaced with new OEM items.
- Hard turbo inlet pipe being fabricated and fitted.
- Syvecs S6 Plus ECU purchased and mapping booked for 8th August.
- Prodrive PFF7 wheels with AD08R tires
- Rear lights changed to blobeye lights.

Plans for the end of the year:
- RCM Rotated Up Pipe and Downpipe kit.
- Scoobyclinic GT35 Billet turbo
- External fuel pumps and swirl pot
- Ported and polished heads as I'm not entirely sure what headwork has been carried out during the engine build (Maybe)
- Cosworth Inlet Manifold
- NOS for spool (Maybe)
- Refurbish all suspension components including fitting of a JDM quick steering rack and the entire whiteline catalogue.
- Refurbish front brakes, source and fit rear AP brakes.

Very nice.

Update:
1: Jetex/Revolution 3" exhaust ordered
2: ID1000 injectors will be ordered this week
3: Fitting and mapping of the Syvecs S6 Plus ECU is booked for 8th August.

After the mapping session i'll be ordering a Scoobynclinic Rotated up and downpipe kit, a new set of GT Spec headers which will all be ceramic coated, a SC Billet GT35 with a 0.82 exhaust housing and two Bosch 044 fuel pumps, a swirl pot setup and larger injectors.

Subscribed, good luck bud!

Lovely car and very nice spec..

I would consider using larger injectors for future proofing as if you decide to use different fuels to get the most out of the setup you could be soon maxing them out. Im running a similar spec and im using 1650cc and wished now i would of gone for the 2000cc.

For the current spec ID1000 injectors are more than capable of meeting my power goals, the plan is to go for injectors in the region of 2000cc when I fit the GT35 later this year.

I have 2200CC Injectors in Mine.
Plenty of head room with a GT35R at 2bar on E85 :)

I use V power most of the time and its very civilised to drive and idles at 900rpm. It's all in the mapping.

If you haven't already Harry, don't buy your turbo before getting a price from me ;)

I'm yet to buy the turbo and Rotated Kit Martyn, I'll give you a call on Monday.

It'll all need mapping by yourself :thumb:

Weird statement to make considering Harry had already decided to use me for mapping again based on his favourable past experiences ?
Wasn't aware we had any beef Banny ?

A long overdue update; just over a year ago, I took the car off the road, sold the engine and sourced a better specced 2.35 engine and a whole host of upgraded parts over the last 12 months.

Over the next few weeks (maybe several months lol), the following will be fitted to the car:

- 2.35 engine, ej22t block bored to 97.5mm new mahle extreme pistons
RCM arrow extreme rods, mahle bearings, new 79mm crank, rcm 14mm headstuds, RCM gaskets, Kevlar HKS belt and pulleys, AVCS JDM 2.0 fully ported and polished heads with Lateral Performance race cams and Supertech valves, titanium retainers, double valve springs and seats, Adjustable vernier cam pulleys.
- Dailey engineering dry dump kit.
- Custom front mount exhaust manifold.
- Borg Warner EFR9180 turbo.
- Cosworth Inlet Manifold with TGV Delete Housings and Fuel Rails.
- 2x external Bosch 044 Fuel pumps with a 3L swirl pot setup and ID2200cc injectors.
- Syvecs S6+ Including Toucan and associated sensors.
- Aquamist HFS3 water/meth injection kit.
- JDM Spec C Quick Steering Rack.
- Cosworth AP front brake kit.

This thread will be updated as the build progresses.

I fitted the dry sump and inlet manifold to the engine a few weeks ago:

I’ve had it for a couple of years now, it’s perfect for me... I’ve done a few gearbox/engine swaps with it and suspension/brake overhauls.

As many horsepowers as possible lol, realistically anything over 700 would be nice.

I get turned on by stuff like this :norty:

Not sure if you've bought a steering rack yet but the 2015+ STI racks are also 13:1 ratio (same as newage JDM) but drop in & reportedly have much better feel (it's detailed in a thread on here which I now can't find).

*Edit: Paint front & rear calipers :)

:thumb: I have a Hawkeye Spec C rack awaiting fitment.
Front and rear brakes will be replaced once it’s up and running, I have a new 356mm AP Cosworth front brake kit and I plan to order a rear kit soon.

Is 13:1 ratio rack really noticeably quicker over the standard 15:1? :wonder:

lovely motor! alloys look a lot nicer in anthracite!

Quick question if you don’t mind...

At what point in a build does it make sense to upgrade the inlet manifold to a Cosworth or Process West etc? I am guessing with bigger valve heads etc there a point where the stock inlet becomes a restriction?

Thanks :thumb:

Based on researching other people’s testing and results, anything over 650bhp seem to see gains from aftermarket inlet manifolds. I’m going for every bit of power I can get out of this build, another key deciding factor was this brand new Cosworth inlet manifold that came up for sale 10 mins away from me at an unbelievable price, complete with composite TGV deletes and fuel rails... I paid less than £750
