So I've been looking for some new shoes, my last ones i had were SKECHERS funnily enough i didn't even know they did shoes. There were very comfortable, for some reason though most manufactures think we want shoes that are incredible uncomfortable :wonder:

Anyway i need some advice, i just want my feet to be happy :lol1: where can i get some nice comfortable shoes?

I must be getting old but I completely agree. Many shoes, including very expensive ones, are a form of torture, how somebody could walk around in them all day is beyond me.

I've been searching for a new pair for over 3 months without success.

Are you after proper dress type shoes or casual or trainer type?

For me Doc Martens are the boll0cks. Both comfy and quite smart.

Quality has gone down and prices have gone up , that's for sure

Nowt wrong with Clarkes.

Used to buy solely Loakes but they are terrible just lately.What the heck happened there! Terrible quality now. Shoes that lasted years split after less than a year

That's why I spend most of my time in trainers.

Agree with the Clarks being comfy, but even they've gone down of late.

I must confess to having a footwear fetish and really couldn't imagine living my life one pair of shoes at a time, I must have at least 30 pairs of shoes and 15 pairs of trainers that are all current and wearable... I don't like to wear the same pair 2 days running.

I blame my mum for not letting me have the trainers or shoes I wanted when I was a kid.:lol1:

I've a pair of Ted Baker brogues which are pretty comfortable, I also recently bought a pair of Puma Ferrari Cat5 trainers, which are the most comfortable trainers I've had for a very long time

Just after a pair of smart shoes, I currently have a pair of sketchers boots that have nice cushioned heals and some cheap shoes I found that were really comfortable, I found by accident, on sale and were I think £15 bargain. Problem is both pairs are getting tired and worn out and every pair I've been looking at feels like I'm walking on bricks. Even pricey shoes.

Even trainers like Vans are less comfortable. If I walk on stones I can feel the stones through the sole of the shoe it crazy.

Vans have gone down too imo, you need to look at Salomon's if you want comfort... ortolite insoles and they don't weigh a ton either... they're not cheap mind, but they do last.

Bit of a tip for when buying casuals... if you find something that you really like... go out and buy another pair straight away as they often change design or no longer make them and either wear them in tandem, which is what I do with several pairs... or put them aside so as one pair dies the others come out to play. :thumb:

Wow i don't have that many, i normally buy in bulk,
then leave others in boxes and just wear a few pairs out,
this is with trainers, i only have one pair of nice Van's left. The others are not comfortable. Won't be buying anymore. Cheaply made now.

Dr Martens DAN dessert boots.Nice thin AirWair sole.Light weight suede.Lasted 4 years so far & still look good.Now of course DM's have gone 'trendy' & they don't make them anymore.:cry:

M&S do some reasonable shoes. Very comfortable and well priced. Clarkes on the other hand have gone down hill - my last pair fell apart after 6 weeks and their customer service was shocking. I'll never buy another pair of theirs.

Cheers, i'm looking for something abit more formal. Some of my most comfortable shoes have been budget makes i've never heard of.

Ecco - The end.

I've gone right off ecco since the soles started splitting and falling apart.

I owned 4 pairs at the time and they were rotated - they refused to replace at the 8 month mark as I had no receipt -despite the obvious lack of sole wear.

Random, no issue for years for me.

The rubberised soles hardly wear at all, when all other shoes i wear them down in a few months.

All 4 had that issue?

Whats clear is nowadays just like cars , you've got 45 'different ' named shoes based on one jelly mold

Two did Mat, one came apart pretty much crumbling the other split across the ball of the foot.
