Carbon fibre bootlid
 
Hello guys and girls I've just installed a carbon fibre bootlid was told to remove the boot bracket springs is this correct also when I open my boot lid it doesn't stay up if there a way I can slove this

try re-fitting just 1 of the springs

Thought about it but didn't want to cause any damage to the boot lid

The springs push on the hinges not the boot itself.

Yeah the reason they would have told you to remove the springs is because the Carbon boot lid will be much lighter than the OEM one. Obviously the OEM springs are designed to lift an OEM boot.

If you have an STI you could consider a WRX bonnet springs as they are lighter.
