love roy buchanan, so under the radar and deserved a lot more recognition than he got. hot wires was the first album i heard and i loved it.

I first came across him in the late 60s when I lived in DC. A few of us went to see him play in some out of town place with his then band The Snake Stretchers who weren't up to much tbh.

As his career developed I understand Jimi would go to watch him play and rumour has it that he was asked to join The Stones.

When I was back in UK I went to see Roy in London on one of his rare trips overseas. Stunning.

His death in around 1978 (?) is still a mystery. He had gone South and ended up in gaol, possibly for getting too p,issed. But he was found dead in the morning. Allegedly suicide but many fingers were pointed at the red-neck cops.

Sweet Dreams did reach the charts and worth a listen.

I just adore his playing and he is so f,ucking cool :cool:
