New brembo pad problems

Hi,

Just bought new brembo pads and discs because they needed replacing. Basically one pads gone in fine but I'm having trouble slotting in the other pad nearer the alloy wheel. New pads exactly the same size as the old ones and I've even cleaned the metal plates inside the caliper that the pad slides into but it won't fit. Looks like the corners of the new pads are slightly too big for the caliper pad housing.

Any ideas

Dremel. Grind the pad until it fits. Very common with aftermarket pads.

Only ever so slightly too big. Tried sandpaper but didn't work so I may have to try a Drexel like u said mate

Sand paper or a file will work. It will just take longer. Dremel will be a lot quicker.

I'm on sandpaper now but I'm gonna borrow my mates dremel tomorrow

or a diamond file if a dremel isn't handy

I haven't got either but I'm borrowing my mates tomorrow. Strangely enough 1 pad slotted in just fine

A common problem that will give you the problems you're having , is corrosion under the pad plates which bends them away from the calipers body so the pads won't fit , try and clean under them so they go back into place so the pads then fit

I've cleaned the pad plates with a flat head screwdriver. What seems to be the problem here is like the others said, the 2 sidewalls are a millimetre too big to fit into the calipers.

I put the old pad back in and it fitted perfectly
