STI Version 1 acropolis

This is a post I put up on the type RA Forum but thought I'd post on here also, there is loads of model info over on http://www.type-ra.com/subaru-forum/...embers-area.59
This particular car is the very rare Acropolis badged version which was in celebration of the first win for the Subaru Impreza. Normal STI's in 1994 were also badged and it is estimated that 600-800 were built in total. The one thing about the STI version 1 that differs from the norm is that cars were taken from the production line to the STI department to be modified to the spec separately before sale. So these are extremely exclusive cars.

Anyway to my advert from Type RA

I really have thought long and hard about putting this up for sale but with race cars and other Imprezas something has to give. I bought this car at the end of 2014 from Rob Wakelin (another well known Impreza man) with the view of a long term investment. The real experts on this forum know exactly what this is so I am not going to teach you to suck eggs! I will tell you the facts about this actual car and potential purchasers can decide from there.

So the important things you need to know. The car is very original whit it's original engine which is in perfect running order 59km plus 20k miles. The box and clutch have been replaced in the past. It drives absolutely perfectly.

The pictures show two sets of wheels, STI v2 and Subaru BBS fitment wheels from 1994 option list for a Legacy.
From the pictures you will notice the bumper isn't great, has nasty P1 replica lip and crack. However I have another that needs spraying which I planned to do. Otherwise paint isn't too bad at all although roof needs a re-spray at some stage. There is no arch rust and underneath is very tidy. Only noticeable dent is a tiny one on drivers side wing. This is all easy to rectify and not costly but I'm offering for sale with these defects as it stands.

Modification wise I have changed ECU to one fitted with one of Scott T's old chips, car runs way better on this at 1.1 bar than the standard STI one which I also have. There is a decat downpipe and centre with standard STI rear box from a V4 RA. Shocks are standard items with Eibach springs and there is a old style HKS dump valve that was on there when I got it, looks like it's been there for many a years. Only other thing is upgrade to newage coil packs.

So car needs what I have mentioned above, I have not valeted or done the engine bay to show a shinny car I want everyone to see it as is. This is an opportunity to buy a very rare car that a buyer can add value to and then watch it go up and up, which tbh is not something I have time to do and really can't justify this as my now 5th Impreza and 7th car!

Here's a few pics, I can get more for anyone seriously interested. Price wise £5.5k
