Classic 1994 Subaru wrx spluttering at 3000 when driving
Hi have a problem with my 1994 classic import Subaru wrx after fmic purchase and install. What extra mods do you have to do like air circulation and extra pipe connections. When idleing its fine when revving and has no problem except from a little misfire could this cause it. When driving and putting foot down a bit the car splutters and bangs and will not go anywhere just splutters need help with this could it be caused by the idle control valve as the rubber has gone

You've fitted a fmic without changing the map.
Simple answer it needs a remap. Are you running a vta dv now or dv delete? |
I have a remapped ecu it is a mines 7j

I have a stage 2 mines 7j remap
Did you remap it,ie...was the fuel/timing/boost duty altered after fitting the fmic? Or did you think a it would self learn?(not being sarcastic btw) the standard oem ecu will learn fuel and timing to a certain extent but no ECU will remap itself, even a mines. |

A stage 2 remap doesn't exist....or should I say it shouldn't!!!
A remap should be done to suit the car an its mods, slapping any old ecu on rarely if ever works. You have fitted a fmic which changes the flow, you can't expect it to run well tbh. You are looking in the wrong place thinking it's the IACV is causing what problems you have. I'm no expert tho so maybe someone might come along and tell you different? |
Will be the map at fault, mines maps are very aggressive, way too aggressive for UK fuel. just hope you havnt done any serious damage
