Subaru spark issue won't start

Hi Newbie here seeing if anyone can help me I have a Impreza 2000 turbo with spark issue
have replaced cam and crank sensors but still not getting a spark I'm getting fuel and the compression is good and I have checked to see if power is going to coil which it is and checked cam and crank pulley for missing teeth both look fine so don't know what else to check any info will be much appreciated thanks.

can you test the wiring from the ecu to the cam and crank sensors, if the wiring is damaged then it would be the same as a faulty sensor.

Was the car running ok then just refused to start.

sounds like a goosed crank sensor...

thanks for the replies i haven't checked the wiring because it is covered i have checked for power coming to cam and crank sensors and there is power getting to them so i don't think there is a break in the wiring i have also replaced both sensors as well problem started when cam shaft seized so i replaced both heads with ones off another subaru got them reconditioned before fitting and new timing belt ect so i can't see why it won't start could it be ecu fault and also its still saying cam shaft fault even with new one.

Have you not run since the new heads went on?
Are you 100% sure the Cambelt is timed up correctly?
Did you put on like for like heads and use the correct cam sprockets?

kam0298 26 May 2017 01:56 AM

No there car hasn't run with the new heads on the ones I used was off another turbo 2000 same year the timing is dead on all the marks line exactly up and I used the cam sprockets that came with the used heads. Checked the crank sprocket for any damage but that looked fine as well also tried resetting ecu after replacing sensors but still nothing.

There are 2 marks on the crank sprocket,It's pretty likely you already know that but you defiantly timed it up to the right mark?
You fit new sensors, are they oem genuine?
Another thing to check is that the plugs are in the correct place,I've know people to mix up the crank plug with an injector plug as they both fit each other.
Check all your grounding points as well.

Yes The marks are definitely lined up correct the sensors are off eBay so could be that about the injector plug that's a good point I think I might have done that when refitting the engine will check that thanks for the info will post back to see if that fixed it.
