R180 Rear left inner CV joint keeps breaking
 
Hello! i have a full 6 speed converted GC8 its been running this setup for a long time but i have a little problem.

The Rear Left Inner CV joint has broke 3 times now!
First time it happend on track With DCCD in open,
2nd time it happend in a full pull 3rd gear (no banzai starts) after the first time i fixed it i bought a used one, so i thought it might have been a bad one.

Bought a brand new and yesterday it broke again.
ALWAYS Inner Rear left CV join that breaks...


The chassi is fully adjustable with withline stuff and uniball stuff everywhere could it be the alignment of the wheels that does this? Steering is fine and the rubber looks good tho.
Any tips what it could be that makes it break is appriciated :)

None? I have tried both widetrack 180 axles and non widetrack and as soon i do 1 hard launch from first gear the inner CV joint breaks!

Full pulls when its rolling is fine!

sounds like CV binding and breaking the cage due to bottom arms being set too long, putting massive strain on the cage, twisting it and eventually breaking it. Widetrack shafts are physically longer, but when fully extended are the same length as stock R180, which explains why they made no difference and broke too
When setting suspension you should take each wheel through full travel and check for binding at the shortest and longest shaft positions. (normally at full compression = longest, full extension = longest and with shaft horizontal = shortest) but all depends on the exact setup really
Basically just wind your bottom arms in say 10mm, re set camber and toe and go through checks above. it's nice to leave a bit of head room for bump stop compression and flex too, so maybe shorten them 20mm to be safe
If you want to clarify what i'm saying quickly and easily then take some measurements of the opposite side (which sounds to be ok) and see if what i'm saying could be true. It could be the arms are the same length but coilovers set so full compression is lower on one side than the other etc :thumb:

uppdate! the issue seem that the shaft is beeing able to move to much?

How can i make them stop hitting the "bottom" of the cup?

In the pics above you can see that the shaft itself its the "bottom" and then it all breaks, at the end of the shaft + at the cub there are marks
