Can i safely put 205/55/16 wheels on subaru impreza estate 1.6 fwd 2000 ?

I have R14 regular steel wheels. Just found good offer for alloys with new tyres on. They are 205/55R16. I hope that they'll work

Yes should be fine. I had a Impreza non turbo classic years ago 2.0 and had 17" alloys on that 205/40/17. All classic's regardless of turbo or not can fit 17" alloys on easy.
