Nothing compares to Go Comperrrrrre and Compeere the Meerkat dot com. Just outstanding!

Second best is a Money Supermarket's oddity.

Lynx ads were also very good, God knows where they've gone, now.

I can still remember the song from an advert for the new Honda i-TDCI engines from around 10 years ago.

That and the old Dime bar advert about Armadillos, that's another one that sticks in my mind.

Rob_Impreza99 21 April 2017 12:22 PM

The John Smith's adverts with Peter Kay

No bank or financial institution will get my vote no matter how good their advert.Totally misleading the public about how wonderfully nice & fluffy they are with your best interests at heart.I am surprised OFCOM haven't banned some of them.

Good, but....Boddingtons ads with Mel Sykes. She was more than enough to make me buy Boddingtons.

jonc 24 April 2017 01:34 PM

Opal Fruits - Made to make your mouth water
Flake - The crumbliest, flakiest milk chocolate in the world
Topic - What has a hazelnut in every bite?
Lucozade - with Daley Thompson

One that sticks in my head today, Moneysupermarket with dancing Skeletor and He-Man and eighties backing track, very clever as it is something that as an eighties kid can relate to and now as the demographic of prudent spenders.

raz6589 24 April 2017 03:35 PM

Cant believe no-ones mentioned the Smash, mashed potato robots yet.
Or Leonard Rossiter and Joan Collins Martini ad
Does anyone remember the Camel cigarette ad ?
"Nothing satisfies me like a camel" LOL

thanks
Dave

For me the dambusters carling black label black advert was a classic.

+1 the VW Golf squeaky earring advert - very clever.

Currently I think the Samsung VR advert with the emu is very effective

Donnie Brasco 46 24 April 2017 06:20 PM

Ps Forgot to mention the Peter Kay John Smiths advert "ave it!"

legb4rsk 24 April 2017 11:14 PM

Shepherd Neame are a local brewery so may not have gone national with their Spitfire Ale.
