Was it Peter Cambridge who helped out, ex Prodrive and Bilstein? He aligned my spec C, really nice guy.
Funnily enough, I was considering buying some hatch specC shocks just incase they aren't around in a few years. You should charge B and C for those photos ; it makes them look how Subaru dealers should look, with a class car outside! ! edit; didn't even notice the Lotus's |
Hi Hedgecutter, yes it is Peter. He has been really helpful and i feel privileged he is overseeing the rebuild.
Bell and Colville have been great, they can use the pics for free LOL |

Decided the WR needed a nice spruce up after all that time at the garage waiting for the suspension decision to be made. Peter Cambridge also contacted me to ask if I wanted Bilstein to repaint the shocks they are refreshing, which of course I said yes to. Design by Detail did a great job. |
Been loving the last couple of days, the Scooby has been in its element!

Very nice write-up and lovely car.
Thanks. |
Thanks Sam, much appreciated. |
lovely looking car, and great write up too. I wish my Blobeye was this tidy!
|
Thank you very much Nozza!
|
Beautiful example, if only my Turbo 2000 was in the same shape when I found it!
|
Lovely car. I had a '99 Turbo 2000 wagon with the ppp and Prodrive Bilsteins, without doubt the best suspension I've ever had on any car in 48 years of driving. Good decision to have it rebuilt. I also had similar levels of reliability, ie no problems at all.
|
great looking car. don't see many classics on the road now. just don't look at how much integrales are fetching.
|
I’ll do a full update soon but here is a picture taken yesterday. I love my old mate! http://i594.photobucket.com/albums/t...pstbzv9smn.jpg |
Absolutely stunning car. Love the originality. Well done for pushing to keep this so original.

I’ve still got the car. Currently under a cover in a nice dry garage. http://i594.photobucket.com/albums/t...pskehmjafa.jpg |
What a great read!! it looks like 95h colour? Fantastic colour
|
Thanks, I’m not sure what the colour code is.
|
what a great post / car
gives me something to aim for :notworthy |
Thank you, really enjoyed reading this thread and it’s inspired me to get my one owner year 2000 Wagon with original pro drive upgrade into tip top condition. Supplied by Adams Subaru and only one gentleman owner nearby, I acquired it in Nov last year. Paid a premium but worth it for originality and condition. Having had one many years ago this one is even better. Cheers

I used to go to that pub quite frequently! Funnily enough I haven't been since I got my GC8.
Car looks lovely and such a great backstory. I'm from Barnes/Richmond area, and have driven past B&C a few times, so good to know there's a friendly dealer nearby. I really rate Surrey Subaru Specialists as an alternative, too. |

Just bumping my thread. The car has been in storage for about a year, in a nice dry garage under a cover. Everytime i visit it which is every
couple of months it fires up instantly as if it was driven the day before. My primary objective when buying this car new when i was 30 years old was reliability. I'm now 50 years old and the car hasn't skipped a beat. The most reliable vehicle i've ever owned and i've had a few :-) |
They are great cars when looked after properly,..I had my first Impreza 2001 (my98 uk turbo in reddish blue),owned 5 years, followed.by P1 (289/100),had that just over 2 years, had my current 2005 STi (blobeye) since 08,..all been totally reliable, only been road cars-never tracked, but used all the time,...yours still looking fantastic in the pics..well worth hanging on to👍

Just bumping this thread. More later but my WR Prodrive is still with me!
