You and many others no doubt.

liamh-9293 28 March 2017 09:38 PM

Its annoying lol. Car is just sat with a **** map doing nothing

kenc 28 March 2017 09:44 PM

Ffs is he still working this way. I thought he would have sorted himself before now.

bustaMOVEs 28 March 2017 09:59 PM

There's a massive alcatek classified section, think you should join it.

liamh-9293 28 March 2017 10:01 PM

Any idea where it is pal?

liamh-9293 28 March 2017 10:24 PM

Sold it lol

Tidgy 28 March 2017 10:46 PM

just chuck a syvecs on it and be done.

Dave Y 04 April 2017 02:03 AM

I have the same problem.TDR need a profile for my ecu before they can start mapping my car. They can't get a response from Alcatek.
What is a profile??

Dan_RA 04 April 2017 09:25 AM

When an ecu is mapped, its locked to that mappers security dongle, so it stops any one else from using there mapping data, or an unauthorised mapper doing the work on an ECU he isn't meant to. When you go to a different mapper, Andy Leech has to send you a blank, unlocked software file, which then lets you lock it to your own dongle.

Dave Y 04 April 2017 05:08 PM

Still waiting what a joke !

bustaMOVEs 04 April 2017 06:03 PM

Becoming the most farce ecu ever!
Surely the extra money spent on syvecs etc would be a whole heap of joy and less headache, hence worth the extra imo.
(Exact reason I opted away from Alcatek, otherwise I would of been in same boat which I chose not to be in).

Dave Y 04 April 2017 06:47 PM

Didn't realise what a pita this was going to be when I bought the ecu.

bustaMOVEs 04 April 2017 08:04 PM

I heard it through the grape vine that people were having issues with mr leech, been going on for few years now to my knowledge.
....but if you know a certain mapper then he has no troubles getting files, but then has to be mapped via him also. (Me thinks a private number for the clique)

Tell me more. PM if necessary

Tidgy 04 April 2017 08:36 PM

they all have issues getting hold of him, even those who have his personal contact details and know him well.

Know his stuff, decent guy but customer service is p1ss poor unfortunatly

johnlogie 04 April 2017 08:44 PM

Nightmare to get hold of. These are the contact details I used. I think the phone number goes to his mobile. Spoke to him several times on that number. Good luck!

Martyn Jeffrey does alcatek regularly, even did a mates car with profile sent same day. Not really heard him having problems, but a bit too far for me for Tweeks etc as that was my option when deciding

Dave Y 04 April 2017 09:21 PM

I think Thwaites are an Alcatek dealer

sprigeteer 04 April 2017 10:16 PM

Alcatek and Andy need to sort their shop out. Last time I needed a map check I had a to do a round trip from Newcastle to Plymouth to see the top lads at EngineTuner (original builders of said engine) because the unlock could not be obtained from Andy despite weeks and weeks of contact and promise after promise to Andy Forrest. Really poor that this is still going on. It may be time to get trading standards (or someone in a position to get something done) involved as in this day and age this type of shafting is completely out of order.

Dave Y 05 April 2017 01:07 AM

I tried that number and the man in question answered the phone.I explained the situation he said he didn't know TDR were trying to get hold of him and that he would sort it out.

Dan_RA 05 April 2017 01:25 PM

Dave - whats your seriel off the ecu?

Dave Y 05 April 2017 04:06 PM

It's all sorted now.I spoke to TDR an hour ago and they have whatever it was they needed

Dan_RA 05 April 2017 04:29 PM

ah sound, no worries
