Sti skirts

Ive got some blob sti skirts to fit to my wrx but no clips etc. Will i be able to reuse the clips off my original skirts or need new ones? What do i need to ask for when i go into local car spares shop? Before anyone starts i know its not a wrx and i should of sold it and put the the money towards and sti and that ill get an extra 10bhp if i have a map tweak once fitted and all the other banter that this will attract  but i got them for next to nothing and mine are looking past it due to the kids dragging there feet down them getting out of car. Thanks

Nice mod is that thinking of doing same to my little bros wrx at some point when I can source them cheap :thumb:

They aren't cheap though bout £120 a pair
I would say the retaining clips are the same where you clip middle grey Bit out and pop the black clip out easy enough to change over though
You can get the clips from icp for about £7 need be

Make sure to end thread with before and after pics good luck :thumb:

I did this mod to my wrx wagon a couple of weeks ago and I'd really recommend getting some new clips before you start. They're pretty cheap and I found the old ones were very brittle, and needed some force to get out.

Also get some of these and just yank the old ones out.

The plastic screws aren't very strong and will be welded in place with years of road crud, so it's hard to remove them without mangling them.

Thanks for noticing. Now it's summer I've started shaving my legs again too.

Thanks for the replys

Just double check the part number of the plastic screws. I had a few kicking about and that link was the result of a 10 second ebay search. ICP will know what you're talking about.

Picked the skirts up last night. They was full of dirt and marks. I moaned about condition to seller and he knocked me £5 off but not to bad meaning i paid £25 for them. Ive cleaned them and run the mop over them and good as new. Ill fit them friday. Is it worth selling my wrx skirts? Maybe someone has a bugeye with non colour coded ones? And ive seen a few sti's with them and the h.t auto extensions. Or should i keep and refit if i sell the car and then sell sti skirts as im sure id make a good profit on them

Also nervous about whats lurking behind when i do the swap. My car is very clean with no rust and isnt a daily but ive got a can of stone guard just incase i do have to get wire brush out on my sills.

Cambs_Stuart 29 March 2017 04:05 PM

You'll be amazed at the volume of crud behind them. Use a brush and some paint friendly detergent to clean the sills before you spray them.
While you've got the tools out have a look behind the wheel arch liner, particularly on he passenger's side as road filth can build up there.

Well ive fitted them. Suprised how clean my sills are. Just bit of dirt and all my clips where fine so no need for new ones. Happy with looks. Thanks for all the replys and help
