Cerber Ransomware
just had my files encrypted, anyone know of a decryption malware removal tool free to download :wonder:
|
As far as I know there isn't anything. You can only pay them to decrypt your files. There's a good blog on the Malwarebytes site about the cerber ransomware
|
I don't know much about these things but one of my friends does so I've been in touch with him. Unfortunately the prognosis isn't great at all. I've also spent a little while searching for solutions myself but I haven't found anything positive at all - sorry. As above, paying seems to be the only option.
On a slightly more positive note, it does seem that once paid & decrypted you're no more likely to fall victim again than anyone else. That's just what I've read though...not a personal guarantee! |

Keep an eye on
https://noransom.kaspersky.com https://success.trendmicro.com/solut...file-decryptor https://www.avast.com/ransomware-decryption-tools And maybe a few others, if it's not there now it may be at a later date. You have a choice of restoring a back up or waiting hoping there's a fix. |
Can give this a whirl.....towards bottom of page is instructions.

Bad news all pictures and files encrypted by the virus lost forever
Good news is I'd say 98% of my stuff was saved so only lost recent items |

I had most of my pictures and important documents saved on various flash drives
I lost some recent P1 car underside pictures and a couple of word and excel documents The pictures I lost I have managed to scour various forums I posted on claw most if not all back, so not that bad a hit....the text docs weren't too important I didn't get to the point of reading how much they wanted I couldn't close down quick enough when I realised it was a bad boy Virus....not quick enough lol I took my laptop to a couple of 'computer repair shops' who said the only remedy was to strip delete everything and start from scratch with a new windows download, that cost me £60 which I was happy to pay for a clean fresh machine |
