how long do clutches last?

I realise the answer is "it depends" but on a ppp hawkeye should they last over 100k? I've had a 2.0 wrx at 75k and a 2.5 at 60k (neither ppp) and neither has shown any problems.
I'm potentially looking at a car with 90+k and wondered if a clutch would be imminent?
Thanks

no way of knowing how its been treated or how many miles its done unless you know when it was last changed.

My type r drove fine when i bought it, but 100 miles later the box was dropped to do the rear crank seals and clutch as found to be proper fooked. 6 different people drove it including 2 mechanics and none of us picked up even a hint of an issue with it.

If your worried leave some budget in the bank to cover it

You are, of course, quite right. I'm assuming its the original clutch and there is no mention of it being changed in the blurb, I'll ask. If it is the original it has to be nearly there regardless of driving styles. 70+k miles to change seems to be the answer I'm getting.
This car appears to have done 20k motorway miles in the last couple of years so relatively little clutch wear there, hence, maybe the higher miles.
Thanks all

The average from what I've seen over the years is... STI's around the 80k mark... WRX's can go a fair bit more, but I'd say probably around the 100k mark, due mostly to them having longer ratios... mine was still on it's first clutch @126k when I sold it and still fine, but it had done a lot of motorway with the previous owner up to 92k when I bought it and I know for a fact that I did at least 15k on motorways out of the 34k I put on it... but again it's going to depend how its been driven.

I have to agree with the above comment really as it simply comes down to how the previous owner used the clutch when she/he was driving said car,but saying that if the car was driven properly...the O.E Exedy clutches are very strong and you should enjoy thousands of miles out of them "problem free".SJ.
