The estimate is a little on the conservative side, I'd expect it to reach at least double the lower estimate.

My boss had a new California delivered yesterday which only cost a few quid more than what people expect this jap tin can to make....That just goes to show how mad the world has gone!

Be fair, the California is easily one of the less desirable Ferraris and the 22b is becoming a generational classic.

What's the desirability of the Ferrari have to do with it. The fact is its brand-new and far superior to a Japanese tin can....

When the Jap car bubble bursts and things go back to normal, those who have paid well over the odds will wonder wtf has just happened to their prized asset!

But the sort of person who buys a 100+ grand 22B also has a new Ferrari in his garage Jay...

The bubble for cars like the 22B won't burst, it'll only ever get better. Especially when they can be sent over to America and such like.

Surely there can only be a minority of people who would be willing to drop £100k+ on an Impreza which lets face it, isn't even the best of its breed! Reality has to kick in sooner of later, a reality that puts things into pricing perspective.....If not where does it end?

Did subaru actually win anything with the 22b? I see all the young un's lording over Colin McRae but I dont actually see why, he won 1 drivers title in all the time he drove for them, the same as Burns and Solberg.

What does the equivalent Evo of this generation go for? Are people paying 100k for a TME?

It's pretty obvious some people just don't understand how the market works.

You can't compare a TME with a 22B for a start - one is just a special edition of a mainstream model and the other has a completely be-spoke larger capacity engine and body shell.

There will never be a correction in the market for 22Bs - especially when they're 25 years old and the US can get their hands on them. They're absolutely iconic for a whole world-wide generation of petrolheads. Why some of you don't get that I have no idea.

It's not like the Ford RS scene - which is pretty much UK only and therefore limits the market. There are about 120 million people in Japan alone.

How many 22Bs left? 300 or just over probably. Not that many to go around across the whole globe.

The 22B was based on the 1997 Constructors Championship winning WRC car, so yes.

Probably a similar amount as there was a few years ago when they were £20k.....The question is, what has sparked the price to rise 5 fold? Why is it now the prices have eclipsed the NSX and R34 GTR which were once regarded as the kings of jap cars.

Yeah I have mate, £45k-£50k which is nowhere the increase of the 22b.

As I said, some people just don't understand the market ;)
