ossett2k2 04 March 2017 11:47 PM

Before buying random parts why not buy a code reader for about a tenner so you know why you're getting the CEL.

I had a garage read fault code for me 1 was 0036 bank 1 and cam sensor' but also read up that its not always those parts even tho fault code points to that. I have tried earth conections as that can give same problem.

Clear all faults and drive car, see which error is logged/returns first.

Vxr2010 05 March 2017 09:05 AM

on that note code readers on ebay are only 15£ or so well worth having

Vxr2010 05 March 2017 09:10 AM

i agree above reset and see what comes up , sometimes codes come up like 02 sensors and throttle piston sensors then seem to go away , any poor starting issues , plus earth worth checking , i always put on extra earth wires

no starts on the button every time . I have done earth conections as read that can cause problems. Will have codes removed see what happens . Only happens if i drive it hard' normal drive wont put up engine managment light 😟

JDM_Stig 05 March 2017 10:07 AM

Ahh 2001 Bugeye that gives a error code when rev`d hard, common issue, Its actually down to the very poor grounding the MY01/02 bugeyes have, its interference from the ignition system fooling the ecu into thinking there is a problem.

My old uk300 used to flash the cel light once i had it mapped when driven hard. It was the n.p.s that was causing it. I never changed it tho just lived with it

Did it run the same when your managment light was on ?

JDM_Stig 05 March 2017 04:52 PM

if the NPS is faulty the boost isnt right.

It never stayed on just used to flash when driving hard. Never noticed any difference in performance and was like it for about 3 years or so

not sure but dont think it been mapped' its got adjustable bost presure and dump valve has been changed.decat dummy exhust 3" stainles system with 5" back box. Still finding out and modimg as i go along want to poly bush all back and front end and put 23mm roll bars back and front . Am looking for rear strut brace as i have bought new 1 and it wont fit ns but fits os.

Just fitted new cam sensor and more earth cabels but engine managment light has come back on again 🙁 . Next step try new n.p.s see if that is whats doing it.

If the code is misfire cyl 1 it could be something serious, you are running a boost controller,I presume MBC? What boost are you running??
Full decat and a dump valve(what make is the DV ?)

Before trying to improve performance,I just seen the thread you put up,I would take it for a health check,I would be wary of putting on a dyno atm tho!
Take it to someone who can plug it in and do some road testing, that way they will datalog and will have an idea of what is going on.

I would also recheck that code, are you sure it wasn't P0136?

P0136 O2 Sensor Circuit (Bank 1 Sensor 2)
