Transit

For tools only and occasional timber on roofbars I would say Citroen Berlingo for that money. Very good van in 2L HDI.
If you want to regularly transport timber then you'll want something Transit sized with a proper rack, but for that money I'd expect a right bag of ****e.

I have a transit connect lwb which has been a great van for me, never let me down and it's been far and wide, I paid 1800 for it

I was looking at connects or a astra they all hit about 150k though bad or good with history ?

Had had an astra van a few years ago, really liked it. Ran various vans at work including kangoos, Berlingos, caddys. New fiesta van is brilliant. Depending on how much load space you need, I'd go with an astra if it's big enough.

Oh gawd, potentially another white van man on the road.

I've had SWB transits for the past 10 years. Great to drive and easy and cheap to maintain. Transit connects are shocking on fuel for the size of the van.

My 2003 connect has 100k on the clock with full history and has been spot on, but my mate bought one with patchy history and 180k on the clock and all its ever wanted was a clutch, it's his daily driver too. As mentioned they are simple enough to maintain and service parts are very cheap

Ive seen a nice traffic in black fsh on a 55 plate with 110k for 1675 i know all three are same van traffic primestar and vivaro im worried about a transit my mate owns a bodyshop and he said he had a few in with bad rust
