Rcm precision or gt30 turbo setup.
I'm currently having a 2.1 but by engine tuner and I'm indecisive on the turbo choice, spec is avcs heads, cdb and possibley upgraded cams, would people recommend the rcm precision stock location or do I spend the extra money and go gt30 and get the rotated setup?
What would you recommend? |
Should be asking your tuner what would be best suited to your engine and power goals...

In all fairness I have and he recommends the precision stick location but I've been offered a gt30 with low miles which has thrown a spanner in the works

the gt30 is a fair bit of work to fit for probably similar power outputs-the brand new rcm unit takes no more time to fit than any other turbo.

What power would you expect from the precision unit? About 470 form what I've seen?
|
The precision will work well with up rated cams if you get them, but they never seem to make 500 on pump fuel with basic supporting mods from what I've seen, with the uprated cams I reckon it will be very comfortable in breaking that 500+ mark on pump fuel. The gtx3076 rotated billet should make a nice 550 I'd of thought will decent spool to match.
