A proper JDM equipped and engined car, this why UK 2.5 cars are so cheap.

Wull 22 February 2017 03:34 PM

Good spec as well, would you class buying this as an investment?

myblackwrx 22 February 2017 03:34 PM

RCM posted this on their FB page....newly built engine by them with 0 miles.....as usual someone on FB has been possibly a bit bitchy and said that if this is worth that price then his is worth £50K.....

Worth more than any equivalent UK spec Hatch with 36k on the clock anyday. In fact the suspension and brakes are worth more than half the cars advertised on various "enthusiast" FB pages.

Matty81 22 February 2017 03:57 PM

If only I had a spare £27,000 :Whatever_. If you want a nice jdm you certainly pay a premium these days.

worth more than a cosworth tho? cause that's the only UK hatch you can compare it to really

otherwise its just apples & oranges trying to compare it to a standard uk hatch.

lovely car mind!

Purdy1984 22 February 2017 05:43 PM

Saw this car earlier today when I was at RCM, very nice car

hedgecutter 22 February 2017 06:00 PM

There's a white one in Bristol for £ 18000 odd

On-the-bog 22 February 2017 06:37 PM

only about 10k over egged,,,, well not prob not 10, but not a 20k car thats for sure

jayallen 22 February 2017 06:39 PM

That "proper JDM" engine didn't last very long before needing rebuilt.

RAGGY DOO 22 February 2017 07:26 PM

Interesting to find out the reason for the engine build

What power are they good for std?

It's a lot of money, the only benefit I could imagine from buying one is if it we're for investment reasons.

By the time you buy a 2.5 STI and stick say 5-7k in to it you've probably got a far better motor with plenty change.

I absolutely love how the big brakes look, it makes me hate the std wrx brakes even more. The STI hatch looks decent but these look pretty big.

RAGGY DOO 22 February 2017 08:11 PM

Some lads on here ran the ej207 jdm to 500 bhp
Most settle in around the 450 mark

I agree it's not worth anywhere near that, fair enough it's had an engine rebuild at RCM but you can't just use that as a justification for the high price.

It's not as if they could sell it with a knackered engine and still think it would be worth £20k or so.

I think it would be worth high teens or at a push £20K to the right buyer but at £26995 they are dreaming. :cuckoo:

Uncle Creepy 22 February 2017 10:21 PM

LOL. Even if advertised for £18k, it wouldn't sell in a hurry. At £27k, they'll still have it this time next year.

Cosworth CS400 are averaging about £30k (the cheapest sold on SN was £28K two years ago!) which apart from the Subaru Operetta is very rare with only 75 ever built as a halo car for Subaru UK. I cannot find one for sale at the moment.

And I stand by my initial response, that the £27k is justified, not many people have probably read the spec sheet or looked at the PH advert or noticed it is a Litchfield Type 20, R205 suspension, ALCON Brakes, the RCM rebuild and very low mileage.

A new STi with the pooh.5 is £30K :lol1:

Does it have to go wrong before rebuilding? I know a large number of people do it because they can. Phone up and ask :thumb:

Wull 23 February 2017 08:11 AM

Do you think the price of these will go in time? Like the P1 etc?

No, but that must of been an expensive rebuild and then to put it up for sale with zero miles covered would be a strange thing to do if there was nothing wrong with it.

It's a very nice car though, nice spec. Wouldn't mind it myself, could get the dog in the back with that hatchback.

Probably less Type 20's and I agree on the DRL's - you cannot buy taste or style :lol1:

RAGGY DOO 23 February 2017 12:29 PM

I'd have a cosworth in a heartbeat wouldn't be put off by a well sorted 2.5 hatch neither
It so happens I have a jdm
Myself but I'd have either to be fair
