Sti PPP widetrack

Just picked this up, a lot different to my silver grey m3 I've recently sold, but really like it, need the four doors for the kids and it just grips and goes.
It's got full history, clutch at 91,000, 97,000 curently and pulls really well. Regarding the PPP pack was this just the power upgrade as I have pro drive mats everywhere even in the boot? I know they are easily added but also I notice I have black struts and springs where I thought the sti struts were red? What's the best oil for the these as I don't have the owners handbook, was easy with the m3 as everyone knows it's 10w60 Did they do a pro drive handling pack for the 05 blob? I have the wr sport certificate from factory. A few pics Attachment 27259 Attachment 27260 Attachment 27261 Attachment 27260 Attachment 27263 Attachment 27264 Pic of the m3 Attachment 27265 |
Nice car mate :thumb:
The PPP is not a factory fit option, its only offered and fitted after the car has been run in from new :thumb: http://i272.photobucket.com/albums/j...psv0imypbl.jpg AFAIK it didnt include a suspension package although prodrive springs were always available through subaru :thumb: As regards oil i would say millers or fuchs titan pro race 10/60 or 10/50. Siv :thumb: |
Thanks siv, just getting to know what's what with the new age, I had a classic which had the wr Bilstein with eibachs, best road suspension I've had, bit hard but I loved it.
This sti reminds me of that so I love it, would I benefit from an anti lift kit? |
alk will improve turn in and cornering stability but my money would be on a 22mm rear bar, easily the best value for money mod on a newage impreza :thumb:

Thanks mate, I'll look into it

Managed to get the oil and filter changed on the car, after some confusion my mate rang mark at TDR in warwick who said to use 15w50 and luckily my pal had the right oil and a roger clarke filter
Attachment 26929 Also spoke to previous owner and he mentioned the clutch had been changed by m sport at 91,000 but there was no paperwork so while we had the car on the ramps we could see that the clutch cover plate looked new, result, he wasn't lying Attachment 26930 And finally gave the car a wash off today and cleaned out the arches which were caked, theres not a spot of corrosion anywhere on the car and the front end is stone chip free, beginning to warm to the look of it coming from the m3 which i think is one of the nicest looking cars out there, wipes the floor with the m3 on country bumpy roads too Attachment 26931 Attachment 26932 Attachment 26933 Attachment 26934 Attachment 26935 |
Awesome cars, I bought a Widetrack with PPP last April and am totally addicted, did the same as you sold my 55 plate M3 and waited to find a mint Subaru Type UK with PPP... spent a few quid on her mind, new discs and pads, new Nur Spec exhaust which is awesome, new stage competition clutch, new toyo tyres, and full service and Cambelt change... enjoy the new toy mate

Looks very nice that:cool:
How do you find it compared to the m3? I do miss the engine in the m3 and how flexible it pulled compared to the sti, plus the rasp, the flat four burble isn't a patch on the sound of the 3.2 at 7900 either, BUT the impreza is so much more capable everywhere on the road and despite them looking ott, people love them really I've found. Mines a weekend car so its gets pampered |
Both lovely cars, a standard looking sti just looks so good :luvlove:

Exactly as you state the rasp of the M3 was superb but handling compared to the STi is worlds apart, the STi feels solid and trusting where as my M3 took some concentration.... mines a weekend car as well bud only done 2000 miles since April last year and great to look forward to the weekend to fire it up... get a Nur Spec R exhaust it completely brings the car to life and sounds awesome....

Cracking pic!
I am tempted to go down the 3" exhaust route but i live in a quiet close so not sure the neighbours would love me, plus the ppp does me for now but might look at a remap at tdr to around 330-340 as in 4th i wouldn't say they are are quick car, i remember he m3 getting into its stride then. My m3 felt planted and i got on really well with it, i was running good tyres which was a must in an m3 and an good alignment, still to gel with the sti yet as not done a lot of miles and they are so different, but defiantly feels capable just so used to the turn in of the m3 and the overall balance of them Do like the fact there's loads of goodies to buy for the scoob though, already got my eye on a rear anti roll bar and anti lift kit And are those toyos any good for the subaru? i remember them being to soft for the m3, i need four tyres asap, was looking at the toyos, kuhmo ku39 or goodyear eagle f1 |
