Where I'm at and what comes next? - BHP/ftLB

Hi All,

I know these posts must crop up all the time so apologies in advance.

I'm thinking about my plans for the car this year. Few things happened that made me think life is too short so why not just enjoy it for once.

Currently my car (56 Spec D Sti) is running 330hp and pretty much same torque. Peak power on graph looks to be a nice tight curve allway to 7krpm,

It runs a standard IHI VF43 turbo, injectors and TMIC are all standard.

The engine work that has been done so far is -

ACL Race Bearing
RCM Stopper HG's (0.78mm)
11mm High Tensile studs
Mahle forged piston and rings
Bore & Hone, Reface Heads and Deck
Air Pump delete
Oil pump modified.
Exedy clutch
Genome Exhaust
De-Cat.

I'm wondering what i need to do to get me more power and keep driveability and reliability? I've a feeling its a conservative map but it was done prior to my ownership.

I'm looking personally to hit the 400hp mark. I feel turbo, injectors and FMIC is the key list but based on what i've got now, how far would the current set up take me beyond what i've already got if anything?

TIA

Cheers
Steve

400 can be achieved very easy but as far as driveability and reliability goes depends on how much money you want to spend

where those are concerned im about doing it properly. I think there is probably more safe power to get on the engine i've got without upgrades but if not and in line with my plans i'll do and spend what is necessary i guess.

How would you approach a 400 build then given what foundations i've laid out?

TIA

the most simple way is to bolt on an sc42 turbo some 750 injectors and a walbro 255 pump, I'd stick with the standard sti top mount intercooler at 400 if it's just a road car.
If it was me.. I'd go for a custom up and downpipe suited to a BorgWarner 6258efr and go from there
