Type R/RA/ STI RA Wanted

Cash here for the right car, no scrapers or dodgy past cars. Definitely no rust and history is important. Would prefer V3/4 if Type R as 5/6 are out of budget

I don't mind a lightly modded car but nothing that's been changed a lot from when it rolled out of the factory.

Cheers

Barry

Check out rasp cars, they have a lovely and rare type R wrx for sale, best 2 door for sale currently in my opinion. And the only trader I would buy off. All his cars that I have seen are very clean and honest

scotty75 20 January 2017 11:52 AM

I don't know how to post the link, I think because it maybe on a fb group it won't give me any options todo so.
Can't see it being around long tbh at that price.
Can try get you a phone number if your serious?

Surprised a trader hasn't snapped it up and relisted it

That is most likely to happen, if it hasn't sold already and if it hasn't then there must be something underlying with it as even I'd buy it to make a k or 2 off it if I had money spare

burt2000 20 January 2017 09:09 PM

Hmmm, think I'd prefer something more standard and unchanged from the factory, that one has been built from a bare shell so wouldn't be what I'm after. Cheers anyway

Long time no hear man! Yeah ya know I'm still a Scooby man at heart. I really should never have sold that V6 Type R I had back in 2010. That thing would be worth double what I sold it for now what with the low miles on it:cry:

big-kev 20 January 2017 10:18 PM

The prices are not set in stone :) however considering they are fresh import rust free examples they are not overpriced either IMO.

I saw the grey rasp type R on Friday. All I'm gonna say is wow!
By the far cleanest classic in the country currently for sale. I'm a stickler and I was blown away

I like that we wrx type r v limited you have

burt2000 24 January 2017 11:25 AM

Earlier cars considered, i.e V1/2 and standard WRX models as type r's etc are just too expensive now.

powerwrx 24 January 2017 11:37 AM

my ra is still available

burt2000 24 January 2017 11:43 AM

too dear for me mate

burt2000 31 January 2017 12:16 PM

bump £7k budget

bustaMOVEs 31 January 2017 05:34 PM

You're going to have a hard time finding one imo.

ditchmyster 31 January 2017 05:44 PM

Yep and you're going to have to lower your expectations if you want to get into one for that sort of money there's going to have to be a compromise somewhere... important thing is just to get one, you can sort any issues or things that aren't to your liking over time.

burt2000 31 January 2017 07:39 PM

I'm not expecting a good type r for 7k, they are kind of off the list now. Thinking more an early RA. I'll probably just import my own, at least I know it will be rust free

bustaMOVEs 31 January 2017 08:29 PM

Even clean early ra will be expensive as they are getting rarer in good nick due to age, and i dont think you will also have enough to import a 'clean' one otr either due to yen to pound

.

Yep my Type R needs an engine and bonnet and probably a fair few other bits too, but I still wouldn't let it go for less than £3.5k. :lol1:

People have finally realised these cars are getting rare, in fact Very rare to see one on the roads these days, it's the last chance to be getting your hands on one for anything like reasonable money, 5yrs or so and they'll be £20k and up.

joe v3sti 01 February 2017 07:25 AM

You need your head testing paying 7k + for one of these. So glad I bought my mint RA when I did and payed sensible money for it. Not over inflated prices

ditchmyster 01 February 2017 07:57 AM

Supply and demand... look at MK1 & MK2 Escorts, as well as many other cars, lets face it they are pretty $h!t by todays standards... I know this because I was trying to buy one last year... but the money they fetch is beyond ridiculous and that's for nothing special... RS Mexico, 1600, 2000 what they fetching now... £100/120k if you could find one... 22B's over £80k.

I think it's madness but people with money pay it.

joe v3sti 01 February 2017 08:12 AM

It's outrageous, I'm glad I've owned loads of Subarus and payed "relevant" sensible money for them.
Had I have left my mint RA as it was cut would be a 10k car now.
I'm so glad I've chopped and changed the whole car, tracked it, raced it competitively, crashed it and generally beat the living snot out of it. I've enjoyed it at sensible money, you've got to be barmy to pay these over inflated cars.

God knows how much my brand new type R shell, compete with prodrive WRC chassis number will be worth in 10 years. Not that it matters as I'll be chopping that to bits, completely de valuing it and building another race car.
