22b on Copart
As title, anybody shed any light on this one ?

I'd say that's a fair old bit of wear on the gear stick for 38k miles, and a retail price of £82k is nothing short of mental, they were never that good.

P.S £50k when new was pushing it a fair bit, I thought when they came down to the £15/18k mark they were still too expensive tbh. :lol1:

One just recently sold in Japan 227000kms grade R for £50k hammer price, crazy money for sure!
£50k buys some serious machinery, it also buys several other cars that stand to make more than a clapped out ish 140k miles 22b maybe if it was 100k miles less but you'd have to not drive it to get a decent return, and what's the point in having it if you can't enjoy it once and a while. At £50k it's Porsche and Ferrari money for a start, never mind what it will cost landed and tidied up, I'd be wanting at least a fresh engine, never mind gear box diffs, all new bushings, bearings etc, probably another £15k to make it a minter and stand a chance of some sort of return. I kind of get it if you've absolutely got to have one for yourself and there are none available, but £60/80k is stretching it for cat d's and moon milage. |

Wow ! Jap cars of that era are defo increasing in price. Considering the rarity of the 22b I'm not surprised about the price. Have seen people selling / asking £30k-£40k for red evo 6 tommi maks when they were changing hands for £12k ish only a couple of years ago....

Saw it on there this morning I nearly choked on my tea :)

be funny when this bubble bursts and they are worth peanuts again, some of the overpriced tat for sale privately and from dealers will sit there rotting away lol
|
I think that's already starting to happen, look at the likes of Cheshire Performance et al, still got cars they bought over a year ago, can't be good for business, money is in turnover and you need to sell the cars to do that otherwise they're just an unpaid storage facility, which I'm sure gets expensive if you don't own the building.

A fool and their money are soon parted...

People are in dream land if they think the prices of 22Bs are going to drop. I've been predicting this for years and just wish I'd had £25k to buy one at their lowest point.
Only 400 of them made and an entire worldwide PlayStation Gran Turismo/Colin McRae generation keen to own a car that's a rallying legend. Said it before - they'll reach Audi Sport Quattro price levels eventually. |
