Best place for map

Hi could anyone recommend me places in south east to get a map I need it to be mapped for U.K. Fuel to

Cambs_Stuart 11 January 2017 09:43 PM

Zen performance in Earith (just north of cambridge).

scoobidy 12 January 2017 08:20 AM

You can try Neil at slow boy racing, brands hatch or you can try east Kent Subaru, Canterbury. I've only used slow boy racing for any work I've needed doing as he's closer, a nice guy and knows what he's doing. I haven't used east kent Subaru for any work, only to buy parts from but they seem like top guys and I've heard good things.

Bob Rawle is a top man who is based in the south.

maps around failed sensors, doesn't take time when mapping, doesn't road test once complete etc etc

Your experience or what you have read and been told?

Absolutely shocking experience for me with Duncan/racedynamix, mapped my car last August, I'm pursuing him through my credit card for the money for the map, 20 minutes of rolling road, maybe 5 runs, no road finishing, car knocking it's nuts off and going into limp mode that afternoon due to him messing with avcs map, have to drive car off boost still, stopped replying to my texts to sort it out, I would stay well clear, he can map and map well at times, but when it goes tits up you've had it, there's a whole thread on it on Subaru owners club, that is my personal experience

BrownPantsRacing 12 January 2017 01:41 PM

I've had a very positive experience (albeit some time ago) with Duncan. I'd use him again.

Sorry to hear others having issues.

scout1982 12 January 2017 01:45 PM

Look no further than Richard at FB Tuning. Top guy, very experienced, knows his stuff inside out, takes time out to explain it all and I doubt you will find a bad word said about him.

BrownPantsRacing 12 January 2017 01:47 PM

+1 for Rich @ FB Tuning. Top bloke.

nortonscooby 12 January 2017 02:51 PM

I used duncan on my previous bugeye a few times car was fine and still is with current owner 5years and 40k miles on. I used andrew carr 18months ago for my blobeye as wanted carrberry rom and again car is fine no issues and some people do post negative feedback about him. What im saying is ive never had a problem with either but some people have. Do you homework and consider your options and go from there. Bob and andy f have good feedback so if you can contact them and travel if you can. Good luck and all the best with your final choice:thumb:

neil97rs 12 January 2017 03:02 PM

Ive used Duncan a few times and had no issues.

Would use him again he can be a bit difficult to get hold of at times but apart from that he has always been very helpful

ted bass 12 January 2017 03:23 PM

I had duncan do my first map and had no probs, car ran like a dream to be fair, used clive atthowe last time but only coz duncan was a pain to get hold of, clive does a top job and all, cant fault him

imprezagaz 12 January 2017 03:58 PM

Worth the travel upto Scoobyclinic. They've always done my mapping and always been happy. Know their stuff too

nortonscooby 12 January 2017 04:49 PM

Again without giving scoobyclinic bad feedback my car was mapped by them when i got it was running fine but as i posted i wanted carberry rom with twin maps etc. Car pulls alot harder and no issues. Different mappers/ different software/different opinions

BrownPantsRacing 12 January 2017 04:57 PM

All depends how the mapper is on the day & how much time he allows to do the job in my experience.

I used Andrew Carr who did a terrible job on my FSTI on his first rushed attempt. Thankfully now after his 2nd re-mapped with corrected problems, the car is fantastic. Like night and day!

They all have good & bad days.

Piggysniffer 12 January 2017 05:10 PM

We all have good and bad days, it's how you sort out the problems you create on a bad day that actually defines a good and bad mapper in my view, had Duncan sorted my car out within a reasonable time (or even at all) then I would have been on here singing his praise, he can map, of that there is no doubt, but when it goes wrong and he doesn't fix the issue that is bad, what you have to ask yourself is do you want to take that chance, I was warned off of him and went ahead anyway as obviously he has more good than bad feedback, but it seems that I just became one of the unfortunate ones, collateral damage maybe, if you map 20 cars and 1 goes wrong then it seems that's acceptable then ? Maybe not acceptable to the person that has a car they can't now drive any sense, choose wisely, prople make mistakes, just see how they rectify them before you go spending your hard earned !

BrownPantsRacing 12 January 2017 05:17 PM

Completely agree.

When Andrew Carr first mapped my FSTI it was boost cutting, not making great power and a pig to drive (as my daily). It took well over 2 months of my chasing and stressing to get another date for him to fix it. Thankfully now though I'm glad I waited and held out to give him the chance to fix it. It's great and my opinion of him has completely changed again back to positive. He did apologise for the mistakes and spent time talking me through things too.

All cars should be road checked after a map. To not road test after this is criminal IMO.

That's all you need, job repaired and a few good words, rights all the wrongs, and totally agree about road testing, he would have picked mine up if he had

rickya 12 January 2017 06:35 PM

Iv used Duncan Racedynamix a few times & always a pleasure to deal with and map was fine on my car.

Richard FBTuning I have used countless times & is a very knowledgeable & enthusiastic mapper. One of my best maps Ive seen on any of my cars was his Apexi map on my Ver6 TypeR, though we did spend a good few sessions on it :)_

seanvx 12 January 2017 06:37 PM

Thanks guys I think Il try fb does anyone know how much for a map

Hawkeye D 12 January 2017 06:39 PM

I trust Bob Rawle for the simple reason being that Len Carlyon (Subaru 4 You in Newbury) trusts him. That's more than good enough for me.
Car drives awesome.....over a year down the line.
Len described him as a "very safe and thorough" mapper.
My fully forged Spec D Hawk easily holds a Golf R DSG...nuff said.

It's a WRX mate...honest :norty:
