HEATER BLOWS HOT & COLD AT SAME TIME??
Could anyone let me have their thoughts on this:-
I know my 2008 WRX STI had dashboard work due to airbag deployment some time ago, before I had it, so I assume that has something to do with my heater blowing warm on the passenger side, but not on the driver's, (except the far right, fixed top vent). As there's no independent side controls, I would've thought the flap operation would be linked together. Does this sound like a mammoth job? |
Sounds as if one of the air mix shutters has come detached from it's linkage/ actuator.

Thanks for your reply Don and for the links. I certainly hope it's linkage that doesn't require a strip down of the heater. There's a lot of bits involved if not!

There is a comprehensive "Self Diagnostics" programme.
Diagnostics.pdf attached However as it's based on HTML, some of the links aren't present, but should hopefully give you some answers. |

I've also got a few results which I can't diagnose because the links are missing. |
A copy of the workshop manual is available to look at here...... (Due to the age of Subaru's software it will only work correctly in "Internet explorer mode" within Microsoft Edge.)
http://jdmfsm.info/Auto/Japan/Subaru...008/index.html The link can be slow at times. To get to the A/C diagnostics choose "Control Systems" from the drop down list and then HVAC SYSTEM (AUTO A/C) (DIAGNOSTICS) http://clarkdh.net23.net/NTL/Website.jpg |
