Princess Leia Is dead

What the **** is going on?

JDM_Stig 27 December 2016 06:22 PM

You just couldn't make it up, one after the other, and multiples on the same day!

dpb 27 December 2016 06:48 PM

Lee225 27 December 2016 06:53 PM

Wasn't she in the first blues brothers film?!

My words, precisely.

This is getting seriously out of hand.

I mean, what the actual......?!!

joz8968 27 December 2016 09:44 PM

2016 is quite clearly cramming for its finals.

Peedee 27 December 2016 10:05 PM

Jeez, thousands of people die every day. Kids, women, men of all ages and for all different reasons. A couple of celebrities pop their cloggs and the world goes mental. It's really not that 'out of hand' :wonder:

hodgy0_2 27 December 2016 10:06 PM

Without wishing to derail this thread with logic or rational thought

We will inevitably get more years with more celebrity deaths

Simply because the definition of celebrity gets ever diluted

In the future we may have a year where, Spencer (Made in Chelsea), Kim Kardashion, Zooela (youtube star) and "that girl from gogglebox" (gogglebox) all pop there clogs

All well known celebs - sum total to the advancement of humanity, cultural or otherwise 0

Totally agree Hodgy and Peedee.

who actually gives a ****? I can safely say I dont wake up and think "I wonder how carrie fisher is getting on today". 20 years after she last did anything remotely interesting at all...

I cannot seriously beleive anyone here actually cares about this kind of rubbish lol

joz8968 27 December 2016 10:49 PM

Kind of an apend to hodgy's post...

My post is only meant to highlight that this year has seen an inordinate amount of so-called 'high-end celebs' die.

Nothing more, nothing less.

Whether you care or not, it's inevitable it gets talked about, as, per the definition of celebrity, they were in the public eye (unlike 'more worthy' people such as doctors, surgeons, fire-fighters, aid workers, philanthropists, etc.)

I 'don't care', per se. It's just an observation.

Not that hard to grasp and understand, really.

BoozyDave 27 December 2016 11:44 PM

People die everyday, yes, it's sad, but it happens.

60 is 'young' by todays standard

If someone posted 'a 95 year old person dies', I'd reply 'they did well to live to that age', but because she was in 'the royale family' people think it's terrible!

People that die before old age is different, Bowie, Prince and a few others were a big shock

It is not young or a shock really 5when you are a habitual drug user and spend your entire life smashed out of your brains?

domino46 28 December 2016 08:29 AM

dpb 28 December 2016 09:55 AM

Maybe actors are highly strung ( all them drugs won't help)

But there seems be higher average degree mental "illness" than population as whole

Not highly strung, just naive and easily influenced / led.

Which blatantly underplays serious mental illness. Now, have you considered becoming a Christian?

Just on this site alone you must see the figures for Mental Illness are much higher then reported.

It is a well known fact that religion preys on those who are not the whole ticket.... Maybe you should have sought professional help rather than trusting some bloke with a bottle of "holy tap water"
