Dash Command Vs Torque

I am getting my DA120 App radio and was wondering what everyone rates better. The Dash Command or the Torque app? Thoughts....?

And....go!

Matty81 19 December 2016 03:22 PM

I've had mine for a few months now but still haven't picked up an Apple digital av cable to use those functions :brickwall

ronjeramy 19 December 2016 05:21 PM

They are the same app more or less, one is for Androd the other iPhone

The end :D

Matty81 19 December 2016 06:14 PM

Does look good must admit. I'll definitely buy one in the new year

What car do you have?

If your car is supported, then BTSSM will beat both Torque and Dash Command.

BTSSM uses the Subaru Select Monitor protocol to communicate with the ECU. Far more information can be shown this way.

Supacool1 20 December 2016 06:30 AM

ian12 20 December 2016 11:40 AM

I have dash command but can't get it working with my03 jdm sti.

Matty81 20 December 2016 12:05 PM

Are you with Apple ian12 ?. If so you need a digital av adapter with lightning for any of the apps to work

Matty81 20 December 2016 01:46 PM

BTSSM is an Android app, so if your headunit is Android or can mirror apps, then yes, it can work via the head unit.

See this page for compatibility http://www.btssm.com/?page=buy

BTSSM website says 2004 EUDM Forester XT is supported. So I would imagine that it would work on the FSTi.

You could ask the developer directly to be sure, he can be contacted HERE or HERE.

He goes by the name of heiche on the Legacy GT forum I linked to.

But iPhone is not supported as far as I am aware sadly.

Matty81 20 December 2016 07:20 PM

ryan51 20 December 2016 08:48 PM

bro82 20 December 2016 10:47 PM

What year JDM, mine has the same issue as yours, because you need btssm instead as I understand it.

bro82 20 December 2016 11:36 PM

it's 2004, I've posted about this issue before and I've been recommended another obd reader but it cost about £100 which is way too much imo for a reader so I'm looking for some alterantives

There are others for a cheaper price, they are not as quick tho.i chose the obdkey as it is tried and tested and managed to get it for £60 second hand rather then pay the full price.these £10 elm readers will not work ss they do not support Ssm!keep an eye on brownpantsracing's threads as he is trying to fabricate his own live feed system at the minute.also i believe a vag kkl cable will work,i bought one but never used it so can not confirm this.

Matty81 21 December 2016 08:17 AM

Where do you install the obdkey key software ?

ryan51 21 December 2016 08:25 AM

Not sure what you mean.but im using a nexus 7 install with torque pro.set up for subaru ssm and the date being transferred via a obdkey bluetooth dongle.

Matty81 21 December 2016 08:38 AM

Argh I see. I'm on Apple anyway so the android won't work for me

Matty81 21 December 2016 08:41 AM

Apparently rev works with the iPhone, using a wifi adaptor

ryan51 21 December 2016 08:49 AM

Im sure tgere is an ios app.cant remember what its called tho.touch base with brownpantsracing.he is very knowledgable and have spoken to him a few times about this kind of thing.

Matty81 21 December 2016 08:51 AM

Will do mate. Cheers bud

So the BTSSM doesn't support classic imprezas. Can the Torque work with the classic JDM ver 4 STi? I have an ODB port and ESL ecu. Torque app says only odb2 cars.

Yeah I know they have there own diagnostics functions. I would like to see the live parameters on my phone. Torque doesn't specify it it works with jdm ecu. Unless odb is the same for all regions?
