Why you no wave hello :)

As per the title. Back when I had my Blobeye WRX, whenever I passed a scooby driver, whether it be a Impreza, Forester etc, always used to give a thumbs up or a wave to drivers passing in the opposite direction. Since getting back into a Scoob a couple of months ago, I seem to be getting shunned by other subaru drivers I pass. Is it because its not a classic, or early newage i.e. bugeye or blob ? Or is it because I'm driving a 2012 STI with a 2.5 block and people don't want to get too friendly in case it blows up and I need a tow :)

Just a Sunday afternoon random thought.

It has been said that the 2.5 engine failures are mainly down to the extra force used in the waving action :wonder:

Recovery Ray 18 December 2016 10:12 PM

Obviously 'gay' in that context is not meant in a homophobic bent <<< SWIDT

Re-reclaim the word, people. ;)

Ste333 19 December 2016 09:16 AM

Birmingham mate. Believe it or not...I actually don't see very many Subarus whilst driving round. But then again, my work commuting is at silly times

joz8968 19 December 2016 09:22 AM

Defo less on the roads, these days.

And what ones there are, are often driven by 'past it' middle-aged morts, such as myself. 'Enthusiasts' and the like, I guess.

Perhaps it says more about you than the car.

A friend of mine carried a 'Toot if you're glad to be Gay' sign in his back window and got a nice little toot off almost every other car. You could try something like that?

joz8968 19 December 2016 10:44 AM

Ha.
