Forged ej20

Hi all, I'll have very soon a forged scdb for sale but I wanted to check the general opinion of what I should price it at.
its just been rebuilt (still at the engine place)
newage sti block
new nitrided crank
acl bearings
eagle rods
ARP2000 rod bolts
supertech Pistons (new rings)
Api modified oil pump
roger Clark 11mm head studs (rcm1635)
new seals/gaskets etc

its just the 'bottom end' so you can fit your own heads etc.

About £1500 at most as its a budget spec forged build

ossett2k2 08 December 2016 09:57 PM

Who built it?

rickybobby 08 December 2016 10:01 PM

pardon my ignorance but what makes it a budget spec?

I know the stock newage 2.0 sti is supposed to be pretty capable as standard so surely a rebuilt block would be a safe 500-600bhp lump? Seems to be well known branded parts used and when I priced up forging my blob sti I got quoted £3500 for a similar spec.

Just interested in what makes it worth so little?

just over 2 years ago

picked up a spec block with ported ver5 sti heads with arp head stud kit with cosworth gaskets, roger clarke oil pump and water pump fully assembled and just done over 500 miles for

£900 quid

Cheaper end of the scale parts used, not suitable for bog power etc

crickey, I'd best keep my eye on the 2nd hand market a bit then and let someone else pay the big bill 1st.

Jimmyrallye 09 December 2016 10:37 AM

2nd that looking at 2k just for a standard rebuild

Jack star 09 December 2016 01:53 PM

Hmm... maybe I'll put in the car and sell both as one.

most places sell standard long/short blocks with anywhere from 50,000 -100,000 miles for £1000-1300ish, so even if it is a so called 'budget' build it's still a fresh engine with stronger than standard parts so I was hoping to put it up for more really.

ossett2k2 09 December 2016 02:31 PM

Have you got a price in mind?
Price might also vary depending who the engine builder is.

banny sti 09 December 2016 02:35 PM

1000-1300 is generally the full long engine with avcs heads

bustaMOVEs 09 December 2016 02:57 PM

I wouldn't run more than 500 with the 1635 studs tbh.

The Trooper 1815 09 December 2016 03:21 PM

You will have to pay to sell it on here, more cost to add.
Who built the engine?
