inlet pipe change, need a map tweak?

Hi, if I was to change my standard inlet pipe to a silicone version.
would I need a map tweak? I am running mafless on carberry rom with a induction kit etc thanks ian Attachment 28496 |
I personally would say it would need a map tweak, even tho mafless changing the intake for a more efficient one would have an affect and would increase VE.
I would wait for a proper answer tho lol I only map/tweak my own car and have never replaced my intake pipe so can't compare. Just a shame it costs so much for a map tweak as when changing most parts on these cars then it's always best to just check things at the very least. Is there any way you can datalog from your carberry rom? |
From first hand experience induction mods like this can have a massive effect, will at least need checked
|
i'd be inclined to at least check before and after - then tweak as necessary as it depends how your carberry map was setup and what version of carberry it is.
Generally speaking the MAP sensor will read the same pressure in the manifold regardless of what's in front of it unless you go changing the turbo out, but if your not using using a manifold temp sensor then making the intake more efficient may reduce the inlet temps enough to require a teeny tiny adjustment. I'm assuming if your speed density then you have a temp sensor somewhere on the intake/intercooler/manifold? |
Might make or hold more boost and cause probs this way

thanks all, i have decided to go for a standard replacement in the end.
Im not sure on what version or how, but it was a carberry rom by Duncan at racedynamix. I did fire over a Q to him, but never got an reply :-( |
